Description

SUMMARY

:

With supervision, works with various individuals and teams from across The Maryland School for the Blind in creating compelling print, digital design, video content, and art for a wide range of assignments.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

:

Essential Functions:

Digital design; including marketing materials, solicitations, signage, print banners, publications, and presentations.Graphics for social media, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTokMotion graphics for social media, web, and video.Photography; research, editing, retouching, and organizing photo shoots. Occasional photography of campus activities and events for use in digital designs.Videography; filming, editing, and captioning primarily in Adobe Creative Suite products.Web design and management; primarily on the Word Press platform.Events; graphics for in-person, virtual, and pre-recorded video events.Infographics; charts or other data-vizMarginal Functions:

Additional duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS

:

Equipment Used:

Computer, keyboard, Adobe Creative Suite, multiline telephone, Nikon or Cannon consumer-grade DSLR camera, consumer-grade Cannon video camera, Blackmagic Video Camera, Xtool P1 and F1 Laser Engraver, smartphone, copy machine, and printer.

Performance Standard:

Must represent the School and its concerns accurately and positively through all design projects. Consistent with ADA accessibility standards, produces accessible materials and digital designs.

Work Schedule:

37.5 daytime hours M-F. One-hour daily unpaid lunch; flextime scheduling is possible. This position follows a twelve-month work schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Knowledge, skills and general abilities :

Minimum HS Diploma or GED required; must be at least 18 years of age.1-2 years experience (internship experience may be substituted for years of work experience).1 year experience in video editing in Premiere Pro and After Effects.Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required.General knowledge of ADA accessibility standards preferred.Adaptable to changing priorities and skilled at finding new opportunities for partnerships, fundraising, or enhancing MSB's visibility.Outstanding oral and written communication skills.Strong initiative, creativity, and attention to detail.Digital portfolio of multimedia designs (to be submitted in the interview process)
