The Senior Technical Director provides IT support for the customer at College Park, MD. Projects will involve a mix of research and development and will range from applied research to advanced prototyping to development, verification, and certification of operational software. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek’s performance on our contract, and therefore RavenTek’s mission to support the customer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with teams to research, conceive, and develop prototypes and operational software.Identify successful approaches to complex problems.Collaborate as part of a dynamic customer, as well as execute work independently.Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.Monitor and respond to RavenTek email a minimum of 3 times per week.Complete required compliance training as assigned.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills:

Software development skills in one or more languages (Python, C++, Java), DevOps experience for team development, CICD and version management.Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of new technologies and quickly prototype solutions.Ability to work with other contractors as an equal or to assume a leadership or mentoring role.Ability to clearly document and describe project development to the government customer and their stakeholders so that you can demonstrate expertise and expand roles with the customer.Desire to work on-site at customer research facilities collaborating with government PMs and contractors.Education & Work Experience:

Twelve (12) years of experience in application prototype development and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or a related discipline, or a master's degree with ten (10) years experience, or a PhD with eight (8) years experience.In lieu of a bachelors’ degree an additional four (4) years experience is required for a total of 16 years.Experience and understanding of network protocols, automation, and devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).Experience with embedded systems development, Linux kerned or device driver development, or the desire and drive to acquire skills in this area.Experience with design, development, test, verification, and certification of operational software is highly desired.Virtualization and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Vagrant, etc.) experience.Special Requirements:

TS/SCI clearance with a full-scope polygraph.Work Environment:Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.Physical Demands:To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. The employee may also need to be able to bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries, and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds.
