Position Description : The Integrated Marketing and Fundraising Senior Manager plays a key role in the United Way of the National Capital Area's (UWNCA) direct marketing efforts, focusing on integrating direct mail and digital marketing strategies and tactics into multi-channel approaches to drive constituent acquisition, engagement, and conversion. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in designing fundraising and cultivation strategies throughout the constituent lifecycle and growing direct mail and digital marketing programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Planning, Management, and Execution

Work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and execute an annual multi-channel direct marketing plan that emphasizes data-driven constituent engagement to expand the organization's base of individual donors.

Lead and manage all direct mail campaigns from conception to completion, working with agency partners and ensuring alignment with overall marketing strategies. This includes designing, executing, and analyzing direct mail efforts to drive donor engagement and increase fundraising revenues.

Oversee and execute email fundraising campaigns, ensuring they are integrated with other marketing efforts and optimized for engagement and conversion.

Develop and implement integrated marketing plans that combine digital marketing efforts with direct mail to create cohesive and effective campaigns.

Develop targeted acquisition strategies to expand the organization’s donor base, leveraging traditional direct mail approaches and digital platforms.

Multi-Channel Integration and Reporting

Ensure cohesion of messaging and branding across channels to provide a seamless donor experience and maximize campaign impact.

Work with the Community Impact team to ensure up-to-date, verifiable, and correct metrics in all marketing campaigns and collateral.

Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance, using data to drive strategic decisions and campaign optimization.

Cross-Departmental Marketing Support

Collaborate with other departments to create high-quality marketing materials and collateral for various organizational initiatives and events.

Collaborate with and guide marketing volunteers, ensuring effective contribution to projects and events.

Vendor and Partner Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, agencies, and partners.

Work closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment of marketing strategies with overall organizational objectives.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing or fundraising with demonstrated success in expanding donor bases and increasing fundraising revenues. Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of directly related marketing and fundraising work experience.

Proven ability to create, manage, and optimize direct mail campaigns, including knowledge of best practices in design, production, and mailing processes, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on direct mail experience.

Demonstrated email marketing experience, including understanding digital marketing best practices.

Experience with CRM/eCRM and database systems, with a strong preference for EveryAction.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.

Effective & Engaging Communicator – An effective and passionate communicator, with the ability to engage a diverse rand of stakeholders and articulate the United Way message in a way that inspires others to act in service to the organization and the community.
