Plus, with opportunities for travel and interaction with prospective students and faculty, every day brings new excitement and challenges.The Assistant Director of Admissions at the Phillip & Patricia Frost School of Music reports directly to the Admissions Director. This role plays a crucial role in supporting the admissions and recruitment endeavors for both undergraduate and graduate programs at the Frost School of Music.Responsibilities:Manages, in conjunction with the Director, the day-to-day activities related to processing graduate and undergraduate applicationsParticipate in and coordinate international admission effortsAssist in coordinating the undergraduate/graduate admission processAssist with recruitment and yield programs and activitiesAssist with annual and one-off updates to the admissions website and recruitment materialsHelp manage and compile annual changes and updates to admissions system (CaneLink, Slideroom, Slate) including such things as Graduate Checklist, Slideroom/Slate reports and queue management flow.Compile and analyze new data and make recommendations as needed to assist in admission effortsStay informed of recruitment goals and strategiesTravel as needed to high schools/college fairs/regional auditions/conventions/summer campsReconcile problem filesMaintain electronic and paper records from initial contact to matriculationNotify applicants of confirmed audition dates/times/locationsMerge and mail all prescreen/audition resultsAssist in preparation of audition day materials/schedules for applicantsManages, in conjunction with the Director, the prescreening/online audition processContributes information and ideas related to the general admissions/auditions/recruitment processCoordinates the activities of work-study studentsReply to correspondences, phone calls and emails from prospective applicants and their parents, and facultyCounsel prospective students, applicants and their families through the application/audition processInteract with faculty as needed; providing relevant information about applicants, processes, and requirementsAssist the Director of Admissions Recruitment as neededSchedule visits for individuals/groups and give tours as neededAttend admission meetings in the Director’s absenceReports to the Director of Admissions on a daily basisOther responsibilities as neededMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree (music preferred, but not required)Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant field. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be consideredStrong computer competency required including proficiency in Word and Excel; CaneLink experience is a plusComfort with the Internet and web-based communicationWillingness to learn new software and to develop new skills as requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and professionalism and exceptional dedication to customer serviceAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentGreat organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
