Creative Experience Assistant
St. Louis Public Library’s Central, Julia Davis, and Barr Branches are seeking a Creative Experience Assistant. Creative Experiences are digital makerspaces located at those three libraries. The Creative Experience Assistant is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to excellent customer service and is comfortable working with the public and providing technology-related assistance. In our Creative Experience locations, recording rooms are a popular community resource. We are seeking someone with a strong foundational knowledge of audio production.
In this role you will:
Assist customers with the utilization of Creative Experience computers, 3D printers, large format printers, laser cutter, virtual reality, recording rooms, and other related equipment.Assist in facilitating or leading training sessions and programs for staff and customers on Creative Experience resourcesTroubleshoot Library equipmentCommunicate with managers regarding needed maintenance or Help Desk tickets for issues with technology.Provide one-on-one assistance for customers through Tech Connect appointmentsYou will need to be:
Focused on providing excellent customer service and able to assist customers with different levels of technology proficiencyOrganized, detail-oriented, and able to quickly learn new software and hardware for creative applicationsAble to adapt to a new location with short notice based on coverage needsYou will need to have:
At least six months of experience and/or training, or an Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills.Strong organizational skills.Computer Skills and knowledge of:Windows 10Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)Digital Library Programs (OverDrive, Hoopla, and Freegal)GSuite (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail)ChromebooksSocial mediaCloud storageDigital creative software and hardware (including Adobe Creative Suite, audio and video production, virtual reality, game development, 3D modeling and 3D printers)
