Nelson is currently seeking a

Senior Technical Designer

to join our

Asset Strategy Practice, New York Studio

to assist in the overall efforts for the successful completion of the design, documentation, and construction of diverse, fast-pace Interiors projects. As a Senior Technical Designer, you will lead a team in the technical execution of interior design projects and perform complex design and construction documentation projects on the Asset/Repositioning team.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Leadership

Lead team in the preparation of construction documentationPartner with the Project Manager in the overall delivery of the goals of the projectLead or participate in design charrettes and project team meetingsParticipate in interviews and recruiting of professional staff as requestedIn conjunction with the Studio Leaders, mentor and direct the design work of Teammates and participate in Teammate performance evaluationsFoster a commitment to external and internal client serviceDevelop and maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors and jurisdictional/approval agenciesContribute as a Team Leader, on an as needed basis as it relates to individual performance & development within the project teamCoordination with the clientsAssist the Project Manager in facilitating our extended teammatesEmbrace specific steps to create, develop and promote a diverse workforce and to promote an inclusive environmentProject Delivery

Individually be able to put together full construction drawing setsParticipate with the project team to understand/establish project goals and objectives including workplan, schedule, budget parametersAssist in developing project work plans in Deltek Vision for large scale and/or complex projectsDevelop innovative design solutions which are practical, aesthetic, safe and conducive to intended purposes and function which is reflective of client goals and within project budgetResponsible for selection and specification of materials and architectural building systemsLead effort related to development of design conceptRender conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawingsPrepare and conduct client presentationsLead the overall project technical development for large scale and/or complex projectsResponsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provides support as necessaryPrepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. using AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop and/or Revit/BIMDevelop project specifications or work with specification writer to coordinate construction documentsQualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture8+ years of experience working in the field of ArchitectureMust be proficient in both

Revit

and

AutoCADMust be deadline-oriented, be able to work on multiple projects at one time, and have strong attention to detailAt least 1 year of experience working on Commercial Interiors, in the production of challenging technical drawings

National salary range (regional cost of living factors are considered into the hiring process): $80,000 – $110,000, plus bonuses and benefits; contingent upon years experience, licenses, relevant experience, etc.
