Design Director

team!The Design director reports to the Sr. Project Manager and is responsible for the design delivery of all designs performed by various designers under different contracts. The characteristics of the candidate must include wayfinding design experience within large campus environments (aviation, transportation, higher education campuses, etc.). The individual shall be driven to “think outside the box” and be able to lead and collaborate with large groups to find the right solution.Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field20 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projectsDesign management of complex aviation improvements experienceExperience managing a team of design professionalsExperience with projects more than $50 million in value.Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/BuildProven ability to perform in a management capacityPreferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related fieldProfessionally licensed Architect strongly preferredProfessionally licensed Engineer strongly preferredAbility to work in CAD or REVIT a plusDuties & responsibilities

Oversee the review and approval of technical documents (DRT process)Lend expertise to manage comment resolutionFacilitate meetings and be the technical liaison between the Developers/Design-Builders and TDIP Subject Matter Expert teamsWork with the Sr. Project Manager in defining, reviewing and/or approving design requirements, responsibilities and program consistencyProvide guidance to the Sr. Project Manager should design requirements contained in the project documents not be clearly definedProvide technical review of changes to scope of work for each projectEstablish submittal approval procedures and ensure uniformity of review approachAudit project team comments and designer responsesMonitor compliance with architectural and engineering guidelines for the Client Enhancement Program ensuring consistency and quality in designMonitor permitting information and the permitting process required by the design teamSupport project managers to ensure design reviews are completed on time and within budgetDevelop and maintain the client scope tracker to verify that all scope elements are accounted for and have been or will be assigned to a projectProvide guidance related to the functional requirements contained in the technical specifications or other project documents supplied by clientMonitor BIM productions of all designers and contractors according to client BIM Standards, the BIM Execution Plan, and needs of the Enhancement Program.Act as technical liaison for the design review processes and comment resolution in coordination with the project manager and the Design Review Team (DRT)Provide technical support and coordination between the client Program team and other TDIP project teams for program consistency across all disciplinesProvide technical Support for adjacent client projects as required to ensure accurate interfaceProvide technical coordination for project consistency across all disciplinesPrepare and review briefings, meeting agendas, and supporting materials for various meetings including Board presentations, Steering Committee meeting, Stakeholder outreach, and other TDIP meetings$208,000 - $240,000 a year
