General Statement of Duties

Oversees and manages the research, development, and production of programs, public service announcements and video materials for Henrico County's Public Relations Department; does related work as required.
Essential Duties
Research, produce, write, direct, record and edit video programming for Henrico County Public Relations. Work independently and as part of a team. Experience using common graphic, photo and video editing programs. Operate a variety of equipment, including ENG cameras, still cameras, GoPro, DSLR and drones. Licensed FAA Drone Pilot preferred. Experience operating cameras, lights, audio and computer equipment in the production of live and streaming events, including Board of Supervisors' meetings. LiveU software and hardware experience preferred. Experience recording, streaming and editing local government and community meetings. Gather and edit high-quality, creative still photos for use in County publications, news releases and social media. Experience using common social media platforms, with the ability to organize, write and post as needed. Provide creative assistance and production services for County departments and agencies. Experience working with local government and Public Safety agencies preferred. Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other employees and County government officials, departments and agencies. Ability to interact effectively and appropriately with the public. Physical condition that permits activities including, but not limited to, light to moderate lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, driving and working under adverse temperatures and/or weather conditions. Ability to perform related work, including evening and weekend projects, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree in mass communications or a directly related field and three (3) years of related television production/direction and telecommunications work experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Additional Information
Expected hiring range will be between $60,413 - $67,926 and will be based on the successful incumbent's relevant years of experience and the needs of the department at the time of hire.
A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.
Requires a valid Virginia drivers license.
