POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Communications Director, performs various tasks and completes projects relating to planning, developing, and producing visual and audio communication projects to support community outreach.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

• None.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Creates professional images, videos, audio, and graphics for use in a variety of communications platforms, including web, print, digital publications, and social media.

• Coordinates and schedules video and photo shoots.

• Edits video, photos, and/or/audio for appropriate use.

• Manages multiple projects simultaneously.

• Organize, archive, and share materials.

• Maintain equipment and supplies.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education -- High school diploma or G.E.D. Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, videography, or related field preferred.

• Experience -- Demonstrated experience with digital photography and videography, including professional-level techniques and standards. Recent portfolio showing demonstrated talent for visual communication. Experience managing photography and video equipment and photo databases. Demonstrated Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience producing content for popular social media channels, particularly YouTube preferred. Experience with podcast recording and editing preferred. Experience with and certification for drone videography preferred.

• Licenses and Certifications -- Valid Utah Driver License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of --

o Operating and maintaining use of cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and other photographic and video equipment

• Skill with --

o Professionalism and strong interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to --

o Exercise proficient time management, work independently and prioritize assignments, with follow-through to meet deadlines

o Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Typical office setting with comfortable climate controls. Tasks require a variety of physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye, hand, and finger dexterity is required for most essential functions. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability and discriminating thinking, and creative problem-solving. Occasionally lifts or otherwise moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds. May drive a motor vehicle. Considerable exposure to time-sensitive and stressful situations. Time spent outside at various community events in the outdoors will occur, as will evening meetings. Must be able to accommodate a flexible working schedule.
