Job Description:

Summary:

The Marketing Intern will support WAMU's marketing efforts across a variety of areas within the Advancement team, such as event support, audience engagement, and social media.

This position is only open for Federal Work-Study students .

Essential Functions:

Event Support:

Support live events including media partnerships and co-presenting events.Assist with building event web pages, ticketing pages, and invitations.Manage guest lists and execute ticket giveaways.Assist with creating event logistics plans and working with all stakeholders on planning input.Audience Engagement:

Assist team by responding to audience queries.Further optimize Zendesk flow to shorten response time.Social Media:

Create, design, and schedule draft social media posts.Analyze social media results.Develop a draft social media strategy combining news/content with marketing.Marketing Strategy:

Support supervisor in conducting competitive analysis of nonprofits in D.C. region to determine areas of growth.Hourly Range:

The pay range is between $17.50 - $22.00 dollars per hour.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Up to 20 hours per week.Onsite, 14 hours a week, is required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Remote modality for the rest of the hours of the week.Position Starts:

The start date for this position is flexible and it ends on 12/31/24.This position will report to the Senior Director of Branding and Audience Development at WAMU.Eligibility Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent.Students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in marketing, business, or other related fields.1-3 years of relevant work experience.Interested in public media.Strong written and communication skills.Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail.Flexibility, initiative, and ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team.Be a Federal Work-Study student.Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
