Let’s Talk About The Role

ResMed is seeking a highly motivated Lead UX Designer to join the Global User Experience team. You have a passion for using design thinking to drive innovative, user-centric solutions across a global ecosystem of products, services, and digital technology.

You have an extensive background in UX design and applying user-centered design processes. You possess an eagerness to influence business decisions for the customer through user empathy and a passion for shaping company culture and processes. You have relentless determination to represent the voice of the customer in order to inform product and service design around user behaviors, emotions and needs. You are passionate about solving for the right problems.

As a Lead UX Designer, you have experience facilitating and collaborating in discovery and design workshops and believe in bringing other disciplines along the design process. You work as an advocate for the practice of UX within a product team and can demonstrate the value of design through your work and collaboration with team members. You enjoy working as a member of a team with a common goal. You not only take the initiative to truly understand users, but you also try to understand and include the perspective of teammates when working on a project together. You are always learning and understand the importance of helping others learn and grow.

Understand and advocate for our users and their needs through building empathy, incorporating their behavior, attitudes, and emotions, leveraging research insights and domain analysis to craft meaningful solutionsRepresent UX as lead on a product team, partnering with Product Management and Engineering peers, collaborate with companion teams including Industrial Design, Tech Comms, Product Marketing, Consumer Insights, Brand, and other team membersPlan, facilitate and participate in discovery workshops and ongoing interaction with key stakeholders to develop user-centric solutionsDevelop concepts, sketches, wireframes, flows, journey maps, storyboards, and other design artifacts.Prototype and rapidly iterate semi-functional, low- to mid-fidelity designs based on user research, acknowledging technical feasibilityFacilitate the design process; including ideation sessions, design sprints, design studio; critiques and reviews, contributing to our global design systemAssist with user research, usability tests, customer interviews, etc., develop success criteria, analyze results and provide recommendationsCollaborate with other senior designers and leads to ensure a holistic and cohesive user experience across the ecosystemAct as a UX evangelist and champion for the teamMentor/coach other designersLet’s Talk About You

Strong online portfolio demonstrating user-centered design methods with examples of artifacts for digital, physical and/or services products e.g. lo-fi sketches, wireframes, flows, prototypes, storyboarding, journey maps, etc.Minimum 6 years’ experience designing in an agile, fast-paced and collaborative environment alongside engineering and product managementFluent in modern collaboration, wireframing and prototyping toolsSolid understanding of modern web principles (responsive grids, hierarchy, information architecture, navigation patterns, etc), user-centered design methodologiesFamiliarity with digital technologies and their impact on feasibility of design solutionsProven track record in delivering delightful and easy-to-use products and services based on user needs, using research to validate design decisionsEffective problem-solver, communicator, presenter, and negotiatorAbility to manage multiple projects in a timely mannerAbility to travel up to 10%Preferred:

Employees accrue three weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) in their first year of employment, receive 11 paid holidays plus 3 floating days and are eligible for 14 weeks of primary caregiver or two weeks of secondary caregiver leave when welcoming new family members. Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

This role is eligible to receive an annual cash bonus payment based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance.

Base Pay Range for this position:

$162,000 - $242,000

For remote positions located outside of the US, pay will be determined based the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
