Summary statement on overall purpose and function of the position.

The Head of Internal communications leads the development, implementation, and execution of organization-wide internal communications strategies and structures. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the strategic development and execution of all global internal communications, executive communications, employee events, and engagement programs with an aim to build connection and alignment with Orthofix's business strategy, purpose, culture and values. This position will actively drive employee engagement efforts through company-wide employee communications, across existing and future communication channels and mechanisms. This role will have the added responsibility of organizing and producing content for internal company meetings and events, functional messaging, survey tools and plans that contribute to awareness and engagement of employees and management. Working closely with senior leaders, the Head of Internal Communications will establish consistency in tone and messaging for all internal communications and will incorporate company vision and values as a means of informing employees while driving engagement, understanding, and alignment. This role reports to the Vice President of Global Corporate Communications and will work closely with the Global Corporate Communications, Events, and Creative Services teams to ensure alignment of messaging and adherence to brand standards.

What will your duties and responsibilities be?

The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned.Serve as a strategic business partner and provide strategic counsel and executive writing support to the leadership team as needed and develop messaging and internal presentations for company updates (e.g., Town Hall meetings, Sales Meetings, CEO combinations), key cultural initiatives, employee engagement activities, etc.

Develop partnerships with senior executives throughout the organization, building credibility, and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance and support in delivering employee facing communications.

Develop stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these to support the communication of business information and decisions.

Assess current internal communication channels and develop / deploy additional mediums to deliver the right information to the right stakeholders in the most effective ways.

Ensure consistency and alignment of internal commination activities across all functions and regions in a manner that engages, aligns and inspires employees

Partner with Investor Relations and Global Corporate Communications teams to ensure external messages are effectively translated to internal audiences

Support the HR function in developing communication strategies that uphold company mission, vision, values and accelerate visibility to and understanding of Orthofix's Employee Value Proposition to attract external candidates and drive a connection with existing employees.

Partner with leadership team to roll out global initiatives impacting employee populations providing communication and change management support

Establish metrics to assess communication effectiveness

Represent the voice of employees to leadership

Collaborate with internal teams in the creation and development of materials and production of events

Manage third-party vendors as needed

Ensure functional budget targets achieved

Partner with HR and other internal teams to ensure Diversity, Equity & Inclusion objectives are met and core principles of DE&I are reflected in all employing facing communications

Lead internal communications and change management efforts for any other key internal activities

What skills and experience will you need?

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.

Education/Certifications

:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, communications or a related field.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities

:

Proven track record in communications, marketing, or public relations (PR).

8+ years of experience developing and implementing communication plans for employees, including company announcements, change management initiatives, and employee engagement programs.

Ability to analyze communication metrics and use data to measure the success of communication campaigns.

Experience in all stages of event planning, from conception and budgeting to logistics, vendor management, and post-event evaluation.

Proven ability to manage complex projects and ensure successful execution.

Knowledge of various communication technology platforms including social media, intranet platforms, event management applications, and other communications platforms.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

This position requires occasional travel, approximately 1-3 trips per month, to be on site in Lewisville or Carlsbad and to attend internal events (e.g., Sales meetings). Most trips will be 2-3 days in duration. Orthofix will cover all reasonable travel expenses.

The anticipated salary for this position for an employee who is located in California is $209,000.00 to $260,000.00 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. The Company is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect the pay scale for an employee who works in other states or locations.
