Summary of the position:

As a member of our growing Communications team, the Communications Manager will be responsible for supporting the external communications strategies and tactics to promote, protect and enhance the reputation of Hitachi Global Air Power (HGAP) and Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems (HIES), and the internal communications programs to perpetuate the HGAP employee value proposition.

Content Creation / Written Communications: Develop compelling content for various communication channels including news releases, newsletters, social media, blogs and more using strong writing and editing skills in AP style. Communicate in a clear and concise manner and adept at telling a story. Comfortable with technical language and at simplifying complex messaging and the ability to adapt writing skills to a variety of communications mediums and audiences.

Social Media: Curate, develop, write, and manage social media schedules using social media scheduling programs (such as HeyOrca). Work with cross-functional team members to develop engaging content that grows the company's brand awareness and industry leadership, while increasing followers.

Media Relations: Maintain relationships with industry media, pitching and writing articles for industry media promoting the company's products and company brand.

Internal Communications: Facilitate the company's quarterly employee town hall events and write and edit internal newsletters and communications.

The Communications Manager is a self-starter, organized and pursues excellence in their work. They are flexible and able to meet deadlines with quick turnarounds. They develop relationships with colleagues at multiple levels of the organization and maintain good relationships with outside vendors and agencies.

Duties and responsibilities:Support public relations activities, including drafting and distributing press releases, pitching, ghostwriting, managing editorial calendar and moreSupport the HGAP and Sullair brand social media presence (Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube) by building, scheduling, and facilitating engaging content that supports company objectives using HeyOrca scheduling softwareSupport the Sullair Blog and contributing content using Semrush and performance data to determine blog topicsDevelop professional presentations for internal and external audiencesAssist with industry award and recognition programs for the company and employeesAssist with curating and writing content for quarterly employee newsletterMaintain excellent working relationship with advertising agency partnerMaintain positive community and industry relations with organizations, advocacy groups, publications, etc.Ability and willingness to travel to tradeshows, company events, or customer sites (less than 10%)Qualifications:

Education and Skills :

Bachelor's degree in journalism/communications or related fieldKnowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote) requiredProficient in AP StyleExperience using social media publishing platforms including HeyOrca a plusClear and thoughtful communicator across all levels within and outside an organizationAbility to use data to inform decision-making and make smart, actionable recommendationsResults-oriented, collaborative and inquisitive, with a positive attitude and "get-it-done the right way" mentalityCreative thinker, comfortable solving problems with limited supervisionBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredProfessional experience:

5+ years of relevant corporate communications and social media work experience in a similar roleExcellent writing, editing and proofreading skills (AP Style) - samples requiredAbility to uphold confidentiality when working on sensitive projectsAbility and willingness to travel to tradeshows, company events or customer sites (less than 10%)Working Conditions:
