Freelance Assistant Technical Designer- Sleepwear and Lounge
Client Overview: Our client is a leading manufacturer of ladies and juniors private label and branded apparel headquartered in Midtown Manhattan.
Position Overview: As an Assistant Technical Designer, you will support the Ladies Sleepwear and Loungewear team with department workload by assisting Sr. Technical Designer.
Assistant Technical Designer Responsibilities:• Taking photos of reference and fit samples including scanning garment details• Measuring reference samples, fit samples, and production samples• Checking T.O.P and AR samples• Check e-patterns from factories• Assist in live fitting on models• Assist with customer zoom fittings• Assist with entering fit comments & fit corrections into Flex PLM
Assistant Designer Qualifications:• 1+ years related experience• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion/Product Design preferred• Flex PLM experience a plus• Knowledge of Technical Design and the ability of writing accurate garment specifications and communication fit and construction. Ladies apparel background a plus• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Excel• Ability to read design specs. Knowledge of grading a plus• Ability to spec garments and determine compliance of spec, construction, and fit intent• Must be organized, detail minded and have strong collaboration, communication and follow up skills• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment as a solution-orientated person with a positive attitude
