Summary:

The Grant Writer is responsible for supporting the Mission Advancement Office, with the goal of raising $100,000 to $250,000 in grant funds yearly. This creative team/office works to increase and expand the philanthropic partnerships that make the Mexican American Catholic College's formation and empowerment work possible. The grant writer (in collaboration with the Associate Director of Mission Advancement) develops a detailed fundraising plan to meet the goal and consults with senior staff to carry out the plan. This position provides research and outreach and is responsible for the grant acquisition process for the Mexican American Catholic College. This position is responsible for grant research and writing, facilitates the submission of grants to external entities, grant reporting, creation of special reports and tracking, supports the cultivation and stewardship of institutional donors, and assists with staff education regarding fundraising and other development efforts as needed. The grant writer also works with the other team members to track deadlines, process grants accurately, and ensure compliance with grant and reporting requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsible for grant research and writing for the Office of Mission Advancement at MACC.Serves as a resource to faculty and program directors to identify priority projects, match those projects with appropriate funders, write the grant applications, and ensure that grant reports are submitted on time.Develops and proposes solicitation strategies to promote MACC's fundraising priorities based on research and analysis.Provides grant acquisition training/presentations to faculty and program directors.Works with the Administrative Assistant with the maintenance and organization of the grant records repository and fundraising resources.Maintains grant files and database on various grant applications, contracts, final grant reports and submission status for recordkeeping and reporting purposes and shares those with the Administrative Assistant.Works with the Administrative Assistant to produce and process letters of endorsement, thank yous and acquiring appropriate signatures for all grant documentation.Assures that grant applications grant-making foundations are compliant with the Catholic social teaching.Assist the President in establishing and maintaining relationships with foundations and business contacts.Work with program staff to set goals, measurable outcomes, and evaluation strategies for grant-funded programs and projects.Work with the finance team and faculty and program directors to ensure the completion of budgets and financial reporting.Educate staff, faculty and program directors to ensure they understand the compliance requirements of grant contracts. •Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors' names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization. • Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:

Education-Bachelor's degree in business, pastoral ministry, fundraising, or related field.Experience Minimum of three (3) years' experience in grant, business, reports to nonprofits or technical writing.Experience with conducting presentations and collaborating with internal and external partners.Practicing Catholic or familiar with the Catholic Church.Strong research abilities and familiarity with foundation research tools.License and Credentials: Reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications:Experience: Experience using a donor database, preferably Raiser's Edge. oAbility to take detailed academic-like ideas and condense them into an easy-to-understand written product.Minimum Knowledge and Skills :

Ability to plan, research, and collaborate with internal and external partners;Ability to conduct in person and online presentations;Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Suite applications;Ability to manage multiple and complex projects on tight deadlines;Proven ability to plan, meet strict deadlines, organize, multi-task, facilitate and implement events and trainings;Must be detail and results oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;Must have and exhibit good written and verbal communication skills;High motivation, commitment and positive attitude; • Exhibit an exceptional command of grammar, spelling, and usage in English;Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Travel Requirements: Travel requirements for the position includes 5% local and 2% overnight.
