SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Graphic Designer is a key factory staff member responsible for creating projects from concept state to post production. The Graphic Designer will proactively work on projects related to print design (advertisements, customer-facing print collateral, PowerPoint decks, and sales collateral) and digital design (website graphic support, web advertisements, and social media content). The Graphic Designer will possess a strong typography skill set and familiarity with serial design (multi-page) projects. The Graphic Designer will create and aid in high quality design projects and will possess excellent time management skills, and have the ability to adhere to corporate brand guidelines in order to maintain consistency across all internal and external mediums.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Create designs for sales collateral, POP materials, print advertisements, digital advertisements, promotions, and social media content

Ensure the latest design trends are up to date

Responsible for managing design projects proactively

Coordinate efforts with existing functional departments to ensure the success of new products and the overall strategic product plan

Understand the target consumer, identify trends, exploit opportunities, and benchmark competitive products to keep category offerings viable in the marketplace

Must be the internal voice of the customer and channel and ensure their viewpoints during planning

Define the product strategy in annual plan; outline and refine 5-year plan

Monitor ongoing plan execution, note deviations and pursue remedies

Develop product positioning and feature/benefit messaging and ensure effective delivery of messages through marketing and sales

Plan and execute successful product launches

Coordinate internal resources and, as required, vendors to ensure the successful execution of projects

Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Ensure all projects are completed on time

Help specify market requirements for current and future products through market research supported by ongoing customer and channel feedback

Advise on an itemized advertising and promotional budget to ensure the success of annual product plan

Collaborate on the creation and distribution of sales tools and collateral in support of

Attend relevant promotional events and new product introductions

Be consistently seeking product enhancements and technologies

Be an expert with respect to the competition and emerging relevant technologies

Experience determining offsets and ability to adjust accordingly

Accurately make independent decisions on product disposition

Trouble shoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence

Adhere and monitor SOP

Effectively communicate and notify supervisor when there are functional or cosmetic discrepancies

Must be able to accurately input all required data into the manufacturing database

Complete other duties as assigned by manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess at least 1-3 years of successful agency or in-house graphic design experience

Strong time management skills with the ability to manage various programs simultaneously

Ability to work within and understand Print Industry Standard guidelines

Must be a creative thinker with the ability to develop, test and execute new ideas

Ability to understand and follow corporate brand guidelines

Understanding of digital photography and retouching is essential

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects is essential in potential weekly to biweekly video editing and support.

Knowledge of outdoor sports industries and firearms; quality, features, safety, etc.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm

Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs

Need to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task

Experience working independently with little supervision

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality performance reports and create solutions. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

This position requires various reasoning abilities in order to be successful such as:

Ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks for an extended period of time

COMPUTER SKILLS

Required knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office suite including MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Outlook using MS Office Windows platform. Premier Pro, After Effects, Keyshot, and other related software and programs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require travel occasionally.
