Carlsbad Educational Foundation is hiring a savvy and self-starting Marketing Manager to manage campaigns that support the Foundation's key focus areas: Earned Income, Philanthropy, and Branding. This position requires a gifted storyteller who will deliver powerful and heartfelt stories of our Foundation's impact on the 11,000 Carlsbad Unified students to drive student enrollment and gifts.

The Marketing Manager is responsible for multiple communication platforms, and maintaining a consistent brand, to develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. This position will manage campaigns that support the Foundation's key focus areas: Earned Income, Philanthropy, and Branding. This role is multifaceted and requires a self-motivated management style with excellent interpersonal and project management skills. MARKETING MANAGER DUTIES

Earned Income: Support the Foundation to achieve revenue and enrollment goals for the earned income programs: Kids Care, summer programs, and after-school enrichment.

Philanthropy: Support the Foundation to achieve revenue goals for contributed income initiatives by collaborating with the Director of Philanthropy to create donor materials, fundraising assets, messaging, and targeted strategies as needed.

Brand & Mission: Continue to align the Foundation as the largest district-wide supporter for the Carlsbad Unified School District. Further establish the Foundation as a convener for community and opportunity provider for enriching educational experiences.

Develop and implement the strategy and tactics to support seasonal initiatives as they are defined in CEF's marketing calendar, and work within timelines and budgets.

Produce all communication pieces, including newsletters, web pages, reports, publications, news releases, and social media posts.

Manage freelancers or agencies to create assets, graphics, and other deliverables to support campaigns and achieve goals.

Work with the CEO to manage and train staff, volunteers, board of directors and others about best practices for messaging and maintaining brand integrity.

Help manage fundraising and school events to be on brand and aligned with mission.

Coordinate marketing activities with community partners and Carlsbad Unified School District.

Engage with community by participating in board or committee meetings.

Maintain the Foundation's digital presence, which includes the website and social media handles on Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

Manage email marketing efforts, including developing content and optimizing schedule and frequency based on analytics.

Coordinate and revise marketing strategies and communication tools as needed.

Other work duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Bachelor's degree required.

3+ years of marketing or public relations experience with an emphasis on general marketing, writing, journalism, public relations, branding, and social media.

Experience working with volunteers, school districts, community organizations, parents, or students preferred.

California Department of Justice fingerprint and background clearance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Effective written, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite preferred.

Experience in graphic and web design required (Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress preferred).

Advanced computer skills, including Internet use, E-mail, and typing skills.

Working knowledge of communication systems such as telephone, facsimile, and printing systems.

Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and facilitate collaborative relationships.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy of information.

Self-starter who works well independently and successfully manages multiple projects.
