JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Utah County Assessor's office is responsible for classifying all property in the county; in cooperation with the Recorder's office, associate ownership with the property; establishing a taxable value for all property subject to property taxation; and compiling this information into reports that are utilized by the Auditor's office to calculate tax rates and the Treasurer's office for collections.

POSITION: Ad Valorem Commercial Appraiser I POSTING #: 0624-3325sr

The Opportunity:

Under general guidance and direction of the Commercial Appraiser Supervisor and in accordance with State Code 59-2-701, performs commercial appraisal work. Participates in all aspects of establishing fair market values for county assessment roll.

Starting Pay: Grade 723 Step A: $27.97 - Step G: $32.14 Hourly

Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes:

Incumbent must be able to obtain an appraiser trainee designation with the Utah Division of Real Estate within one (1) year of employment, unless already licensed as an appraiser. The time limit may be adjusted due to class availability of the Utah State Tax Commission.Incumbent must obtain an Appraisal License with the Utah Division of Real Estate within two (2) years of employment.Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment.

Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
