Job Summary:

Under general supervision of the Associate Director, conduct community outreach to at-risk risk individuals living in South Los Angeles. Must be knowledgeable of South Los Angeles County (SPA 6) and proficient in working with high-risk populations, networking in an effort to educate, increase awareness, recruit and enroll individuals eligible into the program. Attend provider and community meetings to increase awareness and create referral network among other organizations and groups. Prior work experience in a social services, health, and substance abuse setting is strongly preferred. Valid driver's license and insurance required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

MEDIA COORDINATION

Create, implement, and maintain social marketing plan.Oversee social marketing activities and maintain social media presence.Monitor search engine optimization and web traffic metrics.Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews.Conduct social monitoring, listening, and engagement on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.Oversee development and distribution of marketing materials and ensure materials are updated.Assist program staff with marketing material development and distribution to ensure consistent messaging andCreate public relations announcements and distribute them to local media.Create social media campaigns for to engage community members in the CDU – UCLA RSVP. A registry to engagecommunity members into research studies.OUTREACH

Identify and establish a variety of productive outreach venues and sites throughout the assigned service cluster of LosAngeles County.Become familiar with the process of enrolling patients into the RSVP for HIV related research studies.Conduct outreach to PI’s (Principal Investigators) to describe the registry and engage them for increased usage.Conduct outreach at events and in community locations and hangouts frequented by the program’s target population(Black/African American women, Hispanic/Latino women, and Racial/Ethnic minority re-entry of all genders), with afocus on Young MSM of color and transgender individuals.Assists in attending community meetings and events to inform and increase awareness of the program within theProvides information and makes presentations to community-based groups, organizations, and institutions, relatedto program goals and objectives.Maintains comprehensive log of all outreach and educational activities.Attends local SPA meetings and other community meetings as assigned.Participates in at least 1 community service planning meeting and/or community health event per month.Conducts outreach to community agencies and/or providers at a minimum of 4 providers/agencies per month.Conducts community outreach to target population reaching a minimum of 25 individuals per month.Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists in ensuring that all group supplies and materials are stocked in efficient quantities, up-to-date, and accurateat all times.Ability to understand and use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic computer software programs in orderto perform job effectively and efficiently.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with persons from target groups in a culturallyappropriate manner.Ability to provide positive feedback, empathy, encouragement and guidance to program participants.Ability to communicate effectively with staff, program participants, service providers and community members.Ability to recognize and adhere to professional boundaries.Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to assist in reaching goals and attend community events.Performs other duties as assigned or requested.Qualifications/Requirements:

EDUCATION:

BS Degree in a health-related field, Marketing or comparable years of qualifying educational/work experience.EXPERIENCE:

Experience working within a substance abuse, human service, or social service setting preferred.Advanced in Google Analytics and data analysis.Expert at communicating performance and digging for information in order to create unique campaigns.LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

:

Must possess and maintain valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance.Must maintain reliable and accessible transportation for travel throughout the Los Angeles Area.Must possess or obtain within 45 days of hire all CITI program training required.SKILLS:

Minimum competency in second language, word processing software, good oral and writing skills.COMPLEXITY:

The ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
