SHP has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our newly expanded office in Greensboro, NC. We are seeking a talented individual who is committed to design excellence, who thrives in a collaborative environment, and who demonstrates a high degree of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Preference will be given to a candidate with proven success in designing and managing projects in the Education market, with additional experience in other types of institutional and commercial work.

As Senior Interior Designer, you will be responsible for:Working in partnership and under the direction of the Vice President of Interior Design through all stages of project designMaintaining open and effective lines of communication with the client, contractors, and internal teamDeveloping and implementing innovative design solutions for a variety of Higher Education, K-12 and commercial projectsPreparation of drawings for all project phases, including concept, schematics, design development, materials & furniture specifications, and construction documentsParticipate in client presentations and marketing effortsDesired Skill & Experience:

Minimum 8-10 years of interior design/interior architecture experienceStrong portfolio and references in education design preferredExperience in the development of agile student-centered educational environments that support lifelong learningProven ability to foster relationships with clients, project teams, contractors and consultantsAbility to work independently and collaboratively with a teamAbility to produce quality work while directing, inspiring and mentoring more junior staffExperience in preparing contracts and negotiating project scope, schedules and fees is a plusStrong communication and client presentation skills; interest and ability to appear as a keynote speaker at industry conferences is beneficialExperience in developing interior construction details and knowledge of interior finish materialsStrong knowledge of FF&E materials, products, sustainability, and industry trendsExperience in developing environmental graphics that support design concepts a plusIn-depth working knowledge and experience in Revit REQUIRED; Enscape, Sketch-Up, and Photoshop experience is a nice advantageRequirements:

NCIDQ Certification is RequiredMust have permanent authorization to work in the United States

Compensation:

This is a full-time 40 hours/week position, with a full suite of benefits, including paid vacation; paid holidays; paid sick/mental health days; medical, dental, vision and life insurance; health savings account with company contribution; 401(k) with company contribution; performance bonus; and other ancillary benefits.
