Job SummaryThe SCD Fellows will be given the opportunity to learn design thinking and use human-centered design through a full-time, year-long appointment, working on multidisciplinary projects and courses with University and external partners. This program allows Fellows to apply design thinking concepts to real-world projects, courses, and activities Duties & ResponsibilitiesApply design thinking and human-centered design to a variety of projects incorporating design research, design strategy, concept development and/or implementation, using a variety of methods and practices. Contribute to project scoping and project management in order to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met. Maintain regular communications with project sponsors and stakeholders, contributing to building and cultivating relationships in collaboration with SCD senior leadership.Perform administrative tasks for projects, including scheduling and preparing for meetings, writing and editing communication and project documents, and other duties as needed.Serve as a key ambassador for SCD by representing the team at meetings, conferences, and related events, which may include occasional travel. Assist with SCD activities by serving on committees, giving presentations, and leading workshops. (10%) (A note on travel: SCD will follow University guidelines on all travel and will abide by CDC recommendations during COVID-19.)Assist in the development and teaching of design thinking courses and workshops for students at introductory to advanced levels throughout the university. Responsibilities include, but wonÃâ,â"t be limited to: working with faculty and teaching teams on ways to creatively and thoughtfully integrate human-centered design, assist in seeking out new and unique opportunities where we could assess and research human-centered design integration, exploring and delivering on opportunities to partner across campus for one-time events, workshops, lectures, and conferences or other events, and teaching or co-teaching human-centered design curriculum in formal and informal learning settings (i.e, courses, virtual, workshops, etc).Minimum Qualifications
