DUTIES:

In addition to the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must perform the following duties:

Complies with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulationsArticulates and facilitates the implementatuion of the mission and values of the Albuquerque Public SchoolsSafeguards confidentiality of privileged informationPrepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, district policy, and administrative regulationsShares the responsibliity of the supervision anc care of district inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment and supplies, and reports safety hazards promptlyMaintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with employees, the community and other professionalsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with or without reasonable accommodation:

Designs graphic arts and signs using design software, computerized routering machines for graphic work, and applies graphic art techniques and crafts such as painting, lithograph, photography, serigraphy, woodcut, etcAccesses artwork, designs and information from the internetApplies graphic designs and signage to a variety of internal and external building surfaces and grounds with ladders, scaffolding and lifts, with the appropriate crafts, murlas, art and related techniquesMeets with APS staff, administrators, parents, students, community members, etc., to decided issues to graphic design and if necessary, provides suggestions to facilitate the processDesigns for in-house and contracted architects when requestedRestores and repairs existing wall graphics with appropriate mediaDesign, scales and layouts graphics and wall graphics such as gymnasiums, theaters and hallwaysPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of approved craft-related training preferred

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalentAbility to design graphics and signs using computer graphic design softwareKnowledge of all applicable codes, regulations and copyright lawsAbility to use computerized graphics equipmentFive years of experience as a graphic artist to include painting and/or drawing and sign making skillsSatisfactory completion of pre-employment physical examinationSatisfactory completion of pre-employment skills test created by APS and CWAValid New Mexico driver's license with insurable driving recordEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenFlexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skillsInterpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephoneKnowledge of APS community, computer system, financial and legal requirements

Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others
