Position Summary

The Marketing Communications Specialist is primarily responsible for overseeing internal and external communication for Frandsen Bank & Trust. The person in this role will develop, implement, and evaluate integrated communications strategies that span social media, media relations, and internal media.

The specialist will effectively and professionally engage with all project stakeholders, collaborate with the marketing content and creative to execute communications programs, and maintain strong quality assurance and control across all team deliverables

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage external communication channels with a focus on social media and media relations

2. Direct social media efforts to engage audiences across traditional and new media. (60 percent)

o Own corporate social media strategy, including content calendar and community management

o Generate compliant social media content in partnership with creative team with input from brand and product stakeholders as well as regional bank branches

o Contribute to marketing campaigns, with an eye toward customer and media engagement

o Create and execute paid social media strategy and execution as needed to support campaigns

o Consult and support key executives on their social media presence

3. Develop a cohesive corporate and regional media relations strategy. (15 percent)

o Identify media and maintain target media contact list

o Ensure regular contact with target media and respond appropriately to media requests

o Draft and deploy press releases

o Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises

4. Internal Communications (15 percent)

o Create internal communications protocols and initiatives that will foster employee morale

o Develop materials to educate staff on communication, social media best practices

o Support internal staff engagement committee and manage monthly employee engagement initiative

o Write and coordinate content for the internal website

o Champion marketing program to engage employees in brand and product campaigns

o Support cause-related marketing and special events

5. Define key performance indicators for each communications channel and track/analyze program performance on a monthly and quarterly basis. (10 percent)

6. Keep informed of developments in the fields of public relations, marketing, communications in financial services industry.

Experience, Skills, & Education

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations or related discipline

Skills

· Excellent grasp of social media governance and management best practices

· Proficiency with social media platforms and management and analysis systems (currently Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Social Assurance, etc.)

· Strong attention to detail

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

· Strong organizational and prioritization skills

· Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

· Must be motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
