Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist for Purdue University's Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the school's brand, programs, and achievements. This role plays a vital part in enhancing the visibility and reputation of the school locally, nationally, and internationally.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning: assist with marketing plans aligned with the school's goals and objectives, identifying target audiences and key messaging strategies. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive positioning, and opportunities for growth. Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and social media efforts using key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to measure ROI and inform future strategies.Brand Management: Maintain and strengthen the school's brand identity through consistent messaging, visual elements, and brand guidelines across all communication channels.Digital Marketing: Manage a consistent, professional look and feel of the external web presence for the School. Advertise activities such as events, seminars, student organization events, social functions, and workshops. Oversee digital marketing efforts, including website development and optimization, informational kiosks, email campaigns, and online advertising to reach prospective students, alumni, industry partners, and other stakeholdersEvent Promotion: Develop marketing materials including flyers, brochures, displays, videos, etc., related to academic programs and other activities across the School.Established in 1888,

Education and Experience

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related fieldTwo (2) years of proven experience in marketing roles, preferably in a university or academic settingExperience in website managementPreferred:

University experience in engineering or scienceSkills:

Required:

Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and techniques, including SEO, SEM, social media platforms, and analytics.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations.Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and design.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of the higher education landscape, including trends and best practices in marketing and enrollment management.Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and website content management systems.Previous experience working with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, alumni, industry partners, and donors.Additional Information:
