Through design, collaboration and innovation, the Senior Designer will help our community create inspiring places for people to live, learn, work, and play.DiMella Shaffer could be right for you if:You can create high-quality designs and visualizations.You thrive on early concept design phases and want to hone your skills.You are open to feedback and enjoy a collaborative workplace.You are excited to use your knowledge to mentor junior peers and staff.You are passionate about beautiful, high-performance environments for people.You have experience and are comfortable working independently with little supervision.You are curious and eager to learn!Requirements:Degree in Architecture8 – 13 years of professional experienceStrong conceptual design and schematic design skillsProficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphics softwareExpertise in SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, Lumion and/or EnscapeResponsibilities:Work with the firm’s design leaders to initiate and develop design concepts for projects across various market sectors, including multi-family housing (market-rate and affordable), science and technology facilities, and senior living communities.Work with project teams to develop initial concepts into building solutions, ensuring that design intent is maintained throughout the design evolution process.Develop graphics and visualizations for design presentations and proposals.Conduct design research to inform project design possibilities.Assist in overseeing junior staff and interns.Things we value, but are not required to apply:Architectural Registration or within two years of hire (we are happy to help you get there)Knowledge of zoning regulations and general permitting processKnowledge of codes as they pertain to project scopeAdvanced understanding of RevitLEED, WELL, or Passive House certification a plusThis is a hybrid role expected to be in the office 24 hours a week.DiMella Shaffer is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity (EOE) employer.
