JOB TITLE:

Marketing and Communication Specialist- Haub School/Honors College

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide leadership in the design and development of marketing and public relations strategies for the Haub School and the Honors College. Provide a strategic marketing and public relations approach that considers the integration of all marketing efforts, including the website, social media presence, publications, advertising pieces, multimedia/video pieces and communications/press releases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain the school/college's websites by collaborating to create a vision and implementation plan for new designs, perform ongoing updates for the school's online presence and CMS, and serve as a resource for faculty-level CMS site authors.

Maintain the school/college's social media accounts by collaborating to lead the design and implementation of the school/college's social media strategies, and serve as a resource for faculty-level social media account holders.

Working with the school/college's student recruiters, produce printed and digital materials for student recruitment purposes.

Working with the school/college's deans and school/college leaders, produce printed and digital materials, including newsletters, advertisements, underwriting, and other publications, to promote the school/college to its various constituencies.

Write media releases and other articles, to be distributed by Institutional Communications, regarding faculty and student achievements, research and events.

In consultation with school/college leadership and Institutional Marketing/Communications, develop and execute marketing and communications plans for the school and college. Include, in the plans, evaluation metrics that reflect the various goals of the school/college and a way to adjust communications strategy and tactics based on evaluation results and current best practices in communication.

Working with the school/college and Institutional Marketing/Communications, produce and manage visual content, including photography and videography, to promote the school/college to its various constituencies and create and communicate systems to gather and organize new photos from faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders.

Collaborate with deans and the UW Foundation to plan and execute development campaigns and communications. Lead contact management systems between various school groups and the foundation's contact database.

Update and maintain the school's style guide with instructions for fonts, colors, logos, and templates that team members can use to create reports, presentations, etc., as well as implement an onboarding process for orienting new team members to the school's communications assets.

In the performance of these functions, the marketing/communications specialist will have access to the Institutional Marketing/Communications team regarding website maintenance, printed and digital design, content production, inbound marketing strategy, videography and photography, and media relations.

The marketing/communications specialist will meet regularly with school/college leadership and Institutional Marketing/Communications.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

May be required to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or related focus

Experience: At least 4 years work-related experience

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: None
