Position Overview

Position SummaryUnder general direction, performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties in support of the day-to-day operations of KENW-TV and the Broadcast Center.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:Provides exceptional customer service in all interactions with students, staff, and the general public Serves as backup receptionist when needed, both at the front desk and answering incoming telephone calls Assists both the Development and Programming departments, as needed Provides technical assistance to the TV production staff when students are not available Captions local TV productions, as needed Performs secretarial and clerical duties for Broadcast Center staff as directed Maintains the TV membership database Promptly and professionally handles incoming donations and underwriting monies, submitting credit card charges electronically, and preparing proper receipts Performs related duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:A high school diploma with a minimum of one year of experience in clerical functions is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of University policies and procedures and structures

Skill in the use of standard office and computer equipment Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Ability to maintain friendly customer service and professional phone skills

Ability to perform routine and moderately complex calculations rapidly and accurately

Project management and organizational skills and the ability to work as a team player Ability to present a professional, pleasant and cooperative attitude in coordinating communication between staff and the general public

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:Work is performed inside during normal work hours Work is sedentary in nature and at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
