Position Overview

Position SummaryUnder the direction of the KENW Producers/Directors, the Production Assistant is responsible for helping produce television programs for broadcast on KENW-TV, as well as for national distribution and syndication.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions with students, staff, and the general public. Support television production, both on location and in studio settings

Collaborate on filming and editing TV productions Produce promotional material and fund-raising material for the Development and Promotion department Assist during fundraising activities to ensure that everything comes together to produce the most successful results possible Keep the editing rooms and TV studios clean and neat and see that all equipment is in good repair Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in broadcasting or a related field or equivalent years of experience in Broadcasting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be computer literate, including non-linear audio and video editing skills Must have basic knowledge of camera and audio equipment for studio and field production Knowledge of University policies and procedures and structures

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Ability to maintain friendly customer service and professional demeanor with all constituencies

Project coordination and organizational skills and the ability to work as a team player. Ability to present a professional, pleasant, and cooperative attitude in coordinating communication between staff and the general public.

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:Work is generally performed during normal work hours, but weekend and evening work is sometimes required. Work often requires climbing ladders to adjust lights or other equipment, or climbing ladders to the top of mobile vans or camera platforms for the purpose of videotaping.

Work consists of exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Work requires reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.

A driver's license is required.
