About the Department and/or College

Texas Tech University Libraries serve as a vital partner with students and faculty in their learning endeavors. The University Libraries' system comprises: (1) University Library, (2) Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, (3) Architecture Library, and (4) Peters Family Legacy Library. The University Library is a patent and trademark depository and is one of two regional depositories for U.S. government documents in Texas. The central focus of the Texas Tech University Libraries is to make available 3.72 million physical volumes, electronic resources, special collections and archives, and to offer services to students and faculty that enable academic and research success.

Major/Essential Functions

Expressing Gratitude: Craft heartfelt thank-you letters to donors, showcasing appreciation through handwritten, typed, and computer-generated formats.Creative Content Production: Produce captivating thank-you videos for donors, illustrating the profound impact of their philanthropy on both the University Libraries and Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library.Utilize storytelling techniques to convey the significance of donor contributions effectively.Collaborate in recruiting fellow students to participate in video projects.Donor Research: Assist in maintaining and updating our donor database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.Web Content Development: Contribute to the creation and refinement of engaging content for our website, showcasing the library's initiatives and the impact of donor support.Newsletter Contributions: Collaborate with our team to develop written articles for our fall and spring newsletters, offering insights into library initiatives and donor stories.Marketing Support: Aid in the preparation of eye-catching electronic and print materials as part of our communications and marketing efforts.Campus Logistics: Facilitate document deliveries on campus, ensuring seamless communication between departments.Gift Management: Assist in the monthly preparation of Gift in Kind spreadsheets, maintaining organized records of non-monetary contributions.Team Collaboration: Participate in meetings with our Communications and Marketing team, offering valuable input with a student perspective on messaging, library-related swag and more.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is.Strict adherence to confidentiality guidelines is essential.Experience working in a collaborative work environment in our inviting suite, where student input is valued and encouraged.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent. No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
