HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The University Library campus is seeking to hire a Library Technical Assistant on a full-time basis at our Dunwoody campus. The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the

Library Technical Assistant

are the following:

Provide primary service desk coverage for the library's daily operations, including basic circulation functions such as charging, discharging, and renewing library materials on Alma platform

Regularly monitor and address library operation issues including supply replenishment, noise, trash, patron behavior/disruption, facilities, technology

Record and track facility and technology issues from initial reporting to resolution

Create and share campus operational statistics with Library Associate II.

Serve as primary on-site expert and reference point for circulation service and desk operations, including procedures, circulation policies/workflow, patron disputes/feedback and using Alma

Process campus orders in Panther Mart from submitting orders to delivery receipt

Manage and maintain the campus course materials/reserves collection while serving as primary contact via faculty/campus departments for services related to course reserves

Provide support to Technical Services with special projects including cancellations, updating holdings information (item types, item locations, and/or item policies)

Other duties as assigned Other duties as assigned

Hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, two to three Saturdays a semester required.

This position is on the GSU Dunwoody Campus at 2101 Womack Rd, Dunwoody, GA 30338.

Qualifications

:

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED and three years of library, customer service, or office experience. Supervisory or lead worker experience may be required for some positions.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Prefer recent experience in a college or university library.

Familiarity with the use of computers in an office setting.

Knowledge of library circulation processes in an automated environment.

Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy and thoroughness.

Excellent problem-solving and effective interpersonal skills
