Job Summary:

The Audio Visual Technician II provides technical support and installs all instructional facilities on campus. Installs and maintains all presentation classrooms, conference rooms, digital signage systems, conferencing systems, and Emergency P.A. systems. Monitors and responds to calls to the help desk. Provides guidance and trains entry-level Audio Visual Technicians. May provide guidance to entry-level Audio Visual Technicians.

Additional Department Summary:

Works independently and with a team to provide special event technical planning, setup, support, and teardown. Troubleshoots complex system issues. Programs advanced level control systems. Designs AV systems. Provides AV and IT technical support as needed throughout the college. Manages AV related projects by coordinating and implementing ideas with department heads, faculty, staff, alumni, corporations, and UA administrators. Requires some weekend and evening hours.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of audio visual technical support experience; OR associates degree or higher and some audio visual technical support experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent customer service, project management, and communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly with end-users. Advanced knowledge of audio visual systems. Ability to setup, configure, and calibrate audio visual equipment (particularly control system programming and interface design).

Preferred Qualifications:

A+, CTS, and other industry certifications (Dell, Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, Crestron, QSC, etc.)Experience managing student employees and the management and use of trouble ticketing software. Experience troubleshooting Windows based systems and software, basic IT network and user administration.
