Job Description

Coordinates with Marketing Specialist, Graphics, Publishing and Distribution teams to ensure brand standards and efficient project management within time and budget constraints. Marketing Services primary expert for project management software. Guides team with expertise in production and prepress including preflight, layout, imposition, color correction, etc., to ensure successful print production that aligns with college branding and identity standards.

Responsibilities

Project Management:

Develops key performance reports, sets goals and provides outcomes for departmental plan.

Manages Marketing Services project management software. Develops and maintains best practices and conducts training for department staff. Manages the configuration and updating of the Ignite project management software as needed. Manages vendor communication and documentation as primary point of contact. Ensures compliance with contract.

Manages projects directly with campus clients to deliver graphic services that meet time, budget, quality, and strategic planning concepts.

Leads cross-departmental production meetings and follows up with team members on action items.

Researches and recommends appropriate technology regarding printing, project management and graphic design industry.

Identifies and introduces new technologies that increase efficiencies and accessibility as it pertains to web/online publishing. Develops variable data workflow for cross-channel publishing.

Responsible for day-to-day direction and mentoring of student and/or part-time workers.

Graphics:

Manages, researches, develops and designs Store products that efficiently and cost effectively meet the needs of the campus community and supports brand standards.

Oversees all design elements of the Template system. Includes developing and designing all suites of branded materials and ensuring quality end-user experience. Troubleshooting all-end user issues such as non-English fonts, accessibility and multi-use end product readiness.

Manages a variety of high priority, complex and specialized projects for important intuitional efforts from direct client contact, project management, cost estimating, design, proofing and delivery.

Provides team with in-house variable-data file manipulation, set-up and expertise.

Designs and layout of standardized institutional materials such as catalog covers, course schedule contents, graduation, commencement, etc., as well as new projects such as supporting integrated marketing campaigns, within the college identity standards.

Educates Marketing Services department staff, and campus clients, if applicable, on Publishing and Distribution Services capabilities and specifications. Provides training, if applicable.

Recommends materials, ink, bindery and other appropriate information to internal and external clients with extensive knowledge of printing specifications and abilities.

Successfully completes selection of annual certifications to maintain cutting-edge knowledge of current and future technologies and requirements.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in graphic design or equivalent work experience. Industry certifications a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of five years' experience in graphic design and print production. Extensive experience in appropriate software and production capabilities. Expertise with current version of Adobe Creative Suite, other graphic arts software and variable data printing. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must have thorough understanding of Macintosh Operating System and competence in Windows PC Operating System.
