Solid computer skills in a PC and network environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to master new software applications and technologies.

The ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

Experience with a CRM, or other experience handling and analyzing large customer/donor data sets, is preferred.

Capable of multitasking and prioritizing projects while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality under pressure and meeting project deadlines.

Exceptional written and verbal communication and customer service skills, and the ability to comprehend and summarize detailed and complex donor data to help inform fundraising and marketing strategies.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound professional judgment, and possess a strong commitment to client service.

Must be professional, enthusiastic, collaborative, motivated to learn, flexible to change, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and experiences.

Strong interest in higher education and fundraising, and experience in marketing, journalism, public relations, or another communications field, is a plus.

Additional Information:

This position requires a 3 month orientation and review period.

Support the Senior Associate Director of Marketing in the execution of marketing strategies to secure new leads for planned gifts. These strategies may include direct mail appeals, email marketing, social media, print/digital advertisements, events, and more. Work with the Senior Associate Director to measure the success of each tactic and adapt strategies as needed.

Facilitate data requests to develop mailing and email lists for targeting marketing efforts, under the direction of the Senior Associate Director.

Collaborate with University Planned Giving Development Assistants and fundraising teams across the University to track new leads and confirmed gifts, measuring the success of marketing efforts. Manage a budget tracker for marketing-related projects.

Input data into Alumni Affairs and Developments’ customer relationship manager (CRM), Advance, from marketing efforts and provide other data entry support for frontline fundraisers as needed.

Assist with University Planned Giving events, which may include staffing in-person or virtual events, drafting briefings for senior leaders and faculty speakers, and tracking attendee responses and feedback, together with the events team.

Support the Senior Associate Director of Marketing and the Executive Director of University Planned Giving in creatively leveraging available reporting tools, software, and data analysis to develop comprehensive fundraising and marketing strategies for alumni and donors, and demonstrate the impact of University Planned Giving. Manage routine data pulls and reporting and provide data analysis as needed.

Cultivate favorable relationships and work closely with colleagues in research, operations, content strategy, creative services, events, donor relations, and other Planned Giving teams cross the University to successfully facilitate marketing and data analysis projects, representing the University Planned Giving team professionally and positively.

Together with the Senior Associate Director of Marketing, help raise the profile of University Planned Giving within the University Development Office and throughout School fundraising offices, through internal communications, trainings, and resources, to further establish University Planned Giving as an expert resource for all frontline fundraisers. This may include updating the employee intranet; managing University-wide Teams channels; scheduling webinars or in-person trainings for staff; sharing donor success stories and resources with fundraisers via email, meetings, or the intranet; and more.

Juggle multiple and changing priorities, as needed, to support the goals of the University Planned Giving team.
