JOB SUMMARY

The designer shall work in a team environment to develop accurate, constructible, coordinated, and timely Plumbing system models meeting McKenney's drafting standards and fully coordinated with the architectural & structural elements of the building and the other building trades (sprinkler, ductwork, piping, etc.). A Plumbing designer will also be responsible for providing accurate shop drawings that support the construction team. The designer will report to the modeling supervisor and be responsible for interacting with the fabrication supervisor, detailers, project managers, project engineers, and field foreman.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSUtilize McKenney's CAD standards to create Plumbing models consistent with company and project requirements.Development of underground plumbing system models fully coordinated with structural footings, grade beams, etc.Accurately model Plumbing systems in compliance with project plans, project specifications, and code requirements.Utilize the fabrication team to provide annotated, dimensioned shop drawings.Coordinate all plumbing systems with ductwork, mechanical equipment, architectural, other trades, and structural elements of the building.Coordinate all plumbing to provide adequate access by manufacturer and code clearances to avoid installation conflicts in the field.Review and distribute fabrication information including assembly sheets, and spool drawings to project managers and field leaders.Effectively and proactively communicate with project managers, project engineers, and field foremen during the drafting and construction process. This includes communication of challenges and schedule progress on a timely basis (weekly at a minimum).Use Company tools to manage requests for information and shop drawing progress.Proactively identify and communicate areas of deficiency/gaps along with proposed solutions on projects to support timely completion of work.Work with project manager and field foreman to create As-Built drawings for projects.Produce all documents on time and within budget (estimated drafting hours) promptly based on job requirements to meet commitments to our customers, both internal and external.Willingness to seek knowledge from others.Actively pursue self-development of skills as it relates to the duties of this job position.Maintain Enthusiasm and Positive Attitude.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GEDMinimum of 3 years working in the Plumbing trade or 3 years of Plumbing design experience using AutoCAD 2014, Revit MEP, and 3-D drafting packagesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Plumbing drafting using Autodesk Fabrication CADmep software.Ability to size low-pressure ductwork, select air distribution, and similar activities.2-year associate degree in drafting or a similar area.Ability to visualize three-dimensional layouts from two-dimensional drawings.Holds a current plumbing license in the State of GeorgiaKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS

Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural construction documents.Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Commitment to detail and deadlines.Must have a professional appearance.Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goalsAbility to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database softwareWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
