Arizona State University Computer Aided Design Specialist Sr. – Asset Management FDM Asset Management Campus: Tempe 103345BR Job Description Facilities Development and Management seeks a Computer Aided Design Specialist Sr. to supervise various computer operations in the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems; analyze requirements for computer aided design support; define solutions based on customer specifications; and translate defined graphic requirement into graphic representations. ASU offers a comprehensive benefits package with the State of Arizona. Close Date 21-August-2024 Essential Duties Monitor the activities of subordinates. Monitor and control the workflow to ensure the overall work objectives are achieved, completed, deadline/productive schedules are met, and performance and availability objectives are achieved. Analyze and define graphic requirements. Translate visual and textual information into drawings, maps, charts, and other graphic representations according to user specifications using computer aided design software. Consult with users, when necessary, to clarify graphic requirements. Update and maintain facility plans and campus maps. Conduct field visual inspections to ensure system drawings and data are accurate. Organize and maintain CAD programs and files on a local workstation system. Maintain archival records of drawings, maps, charts and other graphic representations. Maintain local workstation hardware. Ensure the security and integrity of all CAD production data, programs and files are routinely backed-up to avoid irretrievable data loss. Serve as CAD trainer and resource person for department. Prepare printing specifications for bid process. Responsible for the maintenance and services of plotting and other large format printing equipment. Provide graphic and imagery support for reports and displays. Manage database systems to track and report university assets and facilities records. Clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job. DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a related field AND three year experience in CAD; OR, seven years of design, drawing and CAD experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications Experience in: Using Autodesk Map, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe After Effects, ArcGIS Pro, Google Earth Developing Geographic Information System (GIS) Knowledge of: Geographic Information System (GIS) Space Management Aerial imagery Working Environment Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse. Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
