Summary:

Abrams seeks an enthusiastic, social media-savvy, creative individual with superior organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a strong interest in Digital Marketing to join our collaborative, fun and fast-paced Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement team!

The Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement team is dedicated to setting digital, social media, and brand/licensor strategies across the Adult and Children’s lists at Abrams and also oversees Amazon, D2C, and ecommerce efforts with an eye that’s laser-focused on finding book consumers.

The Marketing Assistant, Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement will contribute to consumer-facing event and title-specific projects spanning all Abrams imprints, help grow our presence across all major social media platforms, maximizing engagement to further drive conversion, and will support the Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement team in an administrative capacity.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to gain experience in the field of Digital Marketing across both Adult and Children’s publishing, learn the strategy behind building an innovative sales-driving campaign based in performance marketing tactics, work with bestselling authors, contribute creatively to promotions, and play an important role in managing the essential day-to-day functions of our department.

This position reports to the Marketing Manager, Events & Consumer Engagement.

Key Responsibilities:Provide administrative and creative support for marketing campaigns and initiatives across the Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement team with a main focus on paid and organic social media and consumer facing eventsWorking closely with the Marketing Manager, Events & Consumer Engagement, contribute to the overall organic social media strategy, including copywriting and content creation for @abramsbooks, @abramskids, and @piquebeyond social media platformsOversee social media community management, while keeping abreast of industry trendsDevelop strategy for seasonal and title-specific digital assets, acting as the department liaison with outside vendors and managing approvals including with key licensors like Disney, Marvel, Paramount, and NetflixSupport the planning and execution of Abrams presence at major consumer festivals, including Comic-Cons, YALLFest, and YALLWestOrganize campaign tracking and analytics to evaluate ROI on key performance marketing initiativesMaintain budget grids; manage invoice tracking and payments, AMEX coding and general updates and deadlines across the teamExecute core departmental tasks, including updating marketing plans and other seasonal tracking documents, and processing book orders and mailings

Qualifications

Bachelor’s DegreeInternship experience in digital marketing, preferably within the publishing industry, a plusA passion for reading and the importance of connecting consumers with booksExcellent written and verbal communicatorDetail-oriented project manager with strong time management skillsAble to balance multiple projects, and is comfortable shifting course and asking for help when neededAble to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environmentOpen-minded, innovative, proactive self-starter who can work well independently yet flourishes in a collaborative environmentEasily builds and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and at different management levelsComprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, and TikTokProficiency in Mac OS and MS Office Suite, with strong knowledge of ExcelKnowledge of Google Analytics, email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp), Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, a plusThis role is based in New York, NY with a 3-day-per-week in office, hybrid work schedule.
