The Role

The Global Marketing Director, Automation and Portfolio Solutions will lead the strategy and solution development of QuidelOrtho's automation, middleware, informatics and value metrics portfolio, while leading the creation of clinical labs value selling tools / solutions. This critical role is responsible for the platforms and solutions that are driving change in today's laboratory diagnostics market, with a key focus on optimizing technology solutions that enhance the value of QuidelOrtho's portfolio and drive higher loyalty and customer lifetime value. Within this role, the GMD will be a change agent, prioritizing and aligning the value chain with our customers, ensuring that customers' needs are drivers of product development activities, coordinating cross-functional work, driving execution of projects, and acting as the single point of accountability for delivering products to the Commercial organization.

This position is remote eligible.

The ResponsibilitiesStrategic Vision & Development of Automation and Informatics Portfolio Strategy:

Develops competitive product/portfolio strategy and prioritizes product roadmap based on full assessment of market, customer, and competition. Stays current on market drivers and assesses impacts to product/portfolio strategy.Defines and validates target customer needs (from Regional Marketing input and market research) and translate the needs into product portfolio opportunities; Develops business cases for new product development projects.Demonstrates deep understanding of global and key regional competitors' portfolio strategy and product level features, strengths, and weaknesses.

Lead New Product Development & LCM:

Demonstrates deep understanding of customer needs, the market, and the competition.Develops product strategies and priorities based on VoC (Voice of Customer) for new product development and upgrades to on market products.Defines concepts for new products and/or services based on customer input, competitive analysis, and market assessment.

Strategic Vision & Development of VMx Consulting Service Strategy -

Develop strategic vision for the future of laboratory consulting services at Q.OGovernance and creation of global standards of global VMx team

Develop Tools & Lead training development -

Demonstrates a deep understanding of customer needs, the market, and the competitionDefines concepts for new processes and tools that demonstrate clinical, operational, and financial value for customersPartners with L&D, Sales Enablement, Regional Marketing, and VMX, organization to develop and deliver training to VMx.

Drive Engagement and Alignment:

Create enterprise-wide enthusiasm for the strategic direction and priorities,Provide alignment and linkage between BU, Regional marketing, and VMx organization to ensure alignment on priorities.

Supporting BU & Regional Marketing Needs (predominantly automation, informatics, and value tools)

Customer engagement,Input VOC into product development teamsWhite paper development

Drive Engagement and Alignment:

Create enterprise wide enthusiasm for the strategic direction and priorities.Provide alignment and linkage between GSM, R&D, Regional Heads, and Regional Marketing team to ensure alignment on priorities.

Development of CL Value Solution + Tools:

Developing high impact sales tools that communicate a differentiated and compelling value proposition and benefits of CL solutions with a key focus on laboratory productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness metrics.Enable portfolio transition from stand-alone to integrated to automation enabling increased lifetime customer value.

Business Management:

Tracks KPIs on assigned products and shares insights on performance. Identifies opportunities for incremental growth and partners with segment and regional marketers for execution.Builds business projections based on product portfolio roadmap, market assumptions and product performance expectations. Actively contributes to annual update of the projection and product roadmap reflecting the latest market and internal execution progress.Provides inputs to demand forecasting, particularly for new product launches.

Bachelor's degree required with MBA preferred.Healthcare Experience: 10+ years of Healthcare Experience, with IVD.Sales Experience: 10+ years of Healthcare Sales Experience, with IVD.Marketing Experience: 2-3 years of Marketing Experience, with IVD.Management Experience: 3-5 years required.Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.Self- motivating, inquisitive, and independent.Growth Mindset: sees problems as opportunities.Accountability: willing to accept fully accountability across all projects assigned.High Degree of Influence: Ability to effectively influence leadership and peers to drive business results.Communication: Advanced verbal and written communication skills.Industry/Domain Knowledge: Expert in Clinical Chemistry market knowledge for the purpose of understanding market forces impacting the business.Collaboration: Ability to deliver results while working in a highly matrixed and fast-paced team environment.Business Acumen: Proficient at uncovering key business issues and providing insightful, actionable recommendations for improvement.Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, both domestic and international.Preferred:

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $128,000 to $218,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
