Senior Director, Packaging Design - Girl Brands

As the Senior Director of our Packaging Design team, you will be responsible for the development, execution, and production of brand packaging concepts for Jazwares. You will oversee a team of designers and production artists while working in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will identify trends and inspiration for each product and conceptualize appropriate design solutions, strategies, and systems that reflect and develop the brand look as well as maintaining and evolving core and collector packaging.

What you will do:

Manage both internal and external resources to develop packaging designs, guiding the process from aesthetic and structural perspectives.Support VP of Packaging Design by leading packaging strategies, design systems, and team growth.Provide mentoring to Packaging Managers and other teammates, nurturing their professional growth, leadership, and skills development.Lead efforts in packaging innovation, exploring new materials and cost-saving ideas to enhance our packaging solutions.Responsible for project timelines and ensuring that the packaging team adheres to the development calendar, meeting deadlines for timely packaging release.Provide clear, appropriate, on-brand, and actionable creative direction to the team.Conduct ongoing research on emerging packaging trends, inspiring teams to stay current with packaging trends in both the toy industry and other relevant sectors.Stay up to date on industry and packaging labeling requirements, standards, and trends.Responsible for overseeing the completion of all projects, aligning with branding guidelines and that branding consistently adheres to established standards.High-level knowledge of compliance and labeling requirements for products as needed.Responsible for reviewing design executions and packouts.Observe and evaluate the job performance of staff members, recommending training and development as needed.Implements and tracks team Key Performance Indicators.Responsible for creating, implementing, and tracking a budget team budget, including reviewing staffing and headcount needs.Lead discussions with Brand teams, offering insights on alternative structures and recommendations.Review, assess, and continually improve the performance of team workflow to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Verify all international packaging variations align with the packaging standards to ensure consistency and compliance.Implement tools, systems, or methodologies that enhance the team's effectiveness and efficiency in their work.Partner closely with brand, product development, visual merchandising, marketing, social, and creative teams to align key messaging and design objectives for all projects.Understands project budgets, supports tracking of budgets, and manages external resources.Ensure the implementation of a comprehensive review process for packaging across all relevant teams.Collaborate closely with the Asia Design and Product Development team.Perform other duties as assignedSupervisor Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, industrial design, or related field required (or commensurate combination of experience and education)8-10 years of experience in packaging design within the CPG industry, ideally in the toy, baby, costume, or pets industry5-8 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in packaging design or similar fieldExperience working with style guides and mock-upsPossess a high-level understanding of the packaging production process including die lines, printing, blister molding, and both traditional and specialty substrates.Advanced skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite.Thorough understanding of consumer packaging design and print requirements, including bleeds, die lines, retouching, formats, and resolution.Exceptional graphic design skills with the ability to provide art direction.Strong grasp of design principles, layout, and type usage.Meticulous attention to detail in design execution.Capable of working efficiently under tight deadlines.Effective communication skillsExcellent project management skillsThe ability to establish good working relationships with employees at all levels of the organizationPreferred Qualifications
