They will own the ability to use their knowledge and expertise to create the best product for our clientele, while working to innovate the experience for our internal and external teams.

Responsibilities:Create new concepts outlining measurements, materials, finishes, and specs. This will be done in support of creating a new concept or in response to an existing oneDevelop concept solutions through an understanding of material, manufacturing, and structure, user needs, and business requirementsEncompass client ideas into overall development processPartner with estimating, purchasing, and project management teams on the design and development of furniture piecesProduce concepts through a process of drawing, testing, and as needed refinement with internal design and manufacturing teamsProvide insight and reasoning on development and design related issuesCommunicate product design through different media including sketches, mockups, 2D and 3D CAD drawingsReviewing shop drawings and samples for production quality, fit, finish, and functionalityCreate design solutions using qualitative design research methods – Industry trends, observations, and product benchmarkingMaintain organized design documentation for projectsParticipate in formal and informal presentations with both internal teams and external clientele to communicate design intent, ability to modify style and content, provide advice, and communicate with different audiencesSkills & Knowledge/Qualifications:Possess Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Resident Status, or a valid Work PermitThink and sketch on paper in order to solve design issuesAbility to be agile and adaptable to problem solving methods as project needs changeSelf-manage time, tasks, and next steps while paying attention to detail and verifying workWorking knowledge of manufacturing process and materials as well as their impact on designsProactively assist and involve others. Initiate collaboration and seek input from team membersComfortability with Solid Works, AutoCAD, Keyshot, and Adobe Creative Suite are considered strong assetsStrong verbal and written communication skillsEducation and Experience:Bachelor of Industrial Design or Certification Equivalent is a requirementMinimum 3 years post-graduate work experience as a practicing Industrial Designer with a focus on furniture design and product developmentWhat we Offer:Casual DressHealth/Vision/Dental BenefitsOn-Site Parking
