The Social Media and Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for crafting and managing compelling written, visual, and multimedia content across the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas' digital platforms, including the website and social media channels. The ideal candidate will focus on developing innovative campaigns to expand and retain participants, and donor base while solidifying our brand identity and fostering strong community relationships. As a valued member of the Marketing and Communications team, this position may require occasional work outside of standard business hours.

Core Responsibilities



Content Creation and Distribution:

Conceptualize, create, and distribute engaging multimedia content across various platforms (website, social media) to highlight the organization's programs, initiatives, and events. Leverage AI tools to generate content ideas, optimize content for different platforms, and enhance visual appeal.



Social Media Management:

Strategically manage and grow the organization's social media presence across platforms (Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.). Utilize AI-powered analytics to identify trends, audience preferences, and optimal posting times. Monitor social media engagement, respond to comments, and manage crisis communications.



Digital Marketing Strategy:

Employ search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media marketing, email marketing, and audience targeting to advance organizational goals. Leverage AI-driven insights to optimize campaigns, identify target audiences, and measure campaign effectiveness.



Data Analysis and Reporting:

Establish benchmarks, collect data, and analyze performance metrics across digital channels. Utilize AI-powered data visualization tools to create compelling reports that inform strategic decision-making.



Website Management:

Coordinate website updates, perform content audits, and ensure content alignment with brand guidelines. Leverage AI-powered content optimization tools to improve website search rankings and user experience.

Additional Responsibilities



Video Production:

Produce social media videos, recommend licensed content, and archive video documentation. Explore AI-powered video editing tools to streamline production and enhance video quality.



Digital Storytelling:

Create visually compelling content using photography, video, and interactive elements. Leverage AI-powered design tools to create engaging visuals.



Accessibility:

Ensure website and video content comply with ADA guidelines by implementing closed captioning and relevant metadata. Utilize AI-powered accessibility tools to identify and address accessibility issues.



Campaign Development:

Contribute to the planning and execution of digital communication campaigns, including email marketing and newsletters. Leverage AI-powered email marketing platforms to optimize campaign performance.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

• Minimum of Three years of experience managing and creating website and social media content, including backend management and campaign development.

• Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on grammar, proofreading, and editing.

• Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems, Google Suite applications, and AI integration.

• Ability to effectively utilize a variety of storytelling formats (text, video, visuals).

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment, meet deadlines, and adhere to organizational guidelines.

• Experience teaching content creation principles and best practices to others.

• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

• Experience with website redesign projects.

Position Details:

Classification: Non-Exempt

Days: Monday - Friday with some scheduled evenings and weekends; flexible hybrid work.

Normal Weekday Hours: Hybrid work schedule, 20 hours per week

Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour
