Are you in?PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONResponsible for developing and overseeing strategic and integrated communications plans and programs for Pepco. Represents Sr. Manager of Communications in their absence. Advise and counsel Pepco leadership with respect to region-specific communications projects strategies and tactics. Ensure high quality, effective communications, including business and strategic planning for complex company initiatives and campaigns spanning capital infrastructure projects, complex regulatory reform, rate review strategies, sustainability messaging and jurisdiction-specific efforts. These projects entail oversight of integrated communication plans, which span internal, external, marketing, advertising and digital media. Serve as strategic program manager for critical initiatives overseeing and facilitating resources spanning a broad portfolio of functional and regional priorities. Ensure alignment of work with Exelon and Pepco Holdings vision and strategy and coordination within and across other Exelon utilities. Performs other duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager, of Communications and VP of Corporate Communications, in support of other communications positions.PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESLead the development and execution of integrated communications strategies and programs across Pepco.Ensure high quality, effective communications, including business and strategic planning for complex company initiatives and campaigns spanning capital infrastructure projects, complex regulatory reform, rate review strategies, sustainability messaging and jurisdiction-specific efforts.Serve as the primary communication project manager for Pepco, coordinating an array of in-house and external efforts to advance functional and regional priorities.Oversee media relations strategy for Pepco, including responding to media inquiries, planning media events, and managing reputational risks within the media space.Periodically represent Sr Manager of Communications with Senior Business Unit/Corporate leadership.Ensure alignment of work with Exelon and Pepco Holdings vision and strategy and coordination within and across other Exelon utilities.Manage vendor/agency relationships and budget in the development of collateral, and the execution of projects.JOB SCOPEPosition reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Communications.Position activities are focused on integrated communications support, while participating in and supporting initiatives and projects developed by communications managers across all business units with primary emphasis on the Pepco region.Involves proactive communication planning and plan execution, significant writing, editing and development of communications materials, and a high level of coordination with other communication functions within Corporate Communications.Requires strong writing, editing and project management skills.High level of organization, strategic thinking, and presentation required.Required travel.Operates independently with limited supervision.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSProven, excellent communications skills - both written and interpersonal.Demonstrated strategic thinking and project management skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMasters degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, or related field; 4-7 years' experience in internal communications and publications.7-10 years of relevant experience.Energy business/industry knowledge.In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.Bilingual/Spanish speaking candidates a plus.Primary Location US-DC-WASHINGTONWork Locations Edison Place, 701 9th Street.
