POSITION OVERVIEWAs the Technical Designer, we expect that you are genuinely excited and enthusiastic about apparel design in the running and athletic category. Fit and function are at the soul what differentiates our product in the marketplace, so to succeed in this role you must have an exceptionally strong eye for detail and quality, and a passion for function and precision. As a member of a small but fast-growing team we hold expectations high for proactivity, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement and learning.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

Manage product development through every aspect of fit & development.Collaborate with cross-departmental and external partners to ensure each style’s outcome aligns with design strategy and functional expectations.Identify fit intent, aesthetic and silhouette, and create or leverage new blocks accordingly.Be responsible for creating and maintaining fit blocks using industry standards and Oiselle brand and customer expectations.Be accountable for quality, accuracy, and consistency of fit through clear analysis, documentation, communication, adherence to fit standards, and use of block patterns.Be eager to meet the needs of our end customer. Seek input, feedback, and trend or industry data to inform decision-making.Create & update tech packs and BOM's across each season’s product line. Create final graded specs based off each individual style's properties.Run fit sessions with multiple designers and/or models and take action accordingly including pattern modification, factory communication, internal documentation, cross-functional collaboration, etc.Own factory development against tech pack, including pattern comparison, grade analysis, sample measurement, block adherence/fit consistency, and more.Identify, improve, correct, and relay fit issues through written comments and illustrations to overseas factories where English is a second language.Prepare TOP samples to our E-commerce division for photoshoots.Track and maintain all fit samples.Maintain seasonal style log with up-to-date product information.Take on other strategic initiatives or projects as needed.

KEY ATTRIBUTES, REQUIRED SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

4+ years of experience in Technical Design and pattern making in apparel design or related field.Excellent fit, pattern making, garment construction and grading skills. (References/portfolio required.)Athletic apparel fitting experience strongly preferred, and an enthusiasm for running is a big plus!Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be needed to be effective with our fast-moving team and external international partners.A detail-oriented workstyle, whether it’s managing fit blocks, priorities, deadlines, or a wear test program.Proactive in nature; when you have a question you ask, and when you have an idea you share it!Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, Excel, and Gmail suite products. Familiarity with PLM’s (ie. BeProduct) a plus.Contributes and helps build a positive office vibe – work smart, have fun, care a lot.Tailoring and extended sizing fit expertise is a plus.BENEFITS:Full-time employment at Oiselle includes:
