Senior Designer Technical - Sun Day Red

The Sr Technical Designer will be responsible for ensuring SDR is delivering consistently well-fitting garments to market that reflect brand ethos and performance requirements. This role will lead the fit process from design to release, including but not limited to tech pack handoff, fittings, PPs and TOPs. The Technical Designer is responsible for ensuring our product maintains design intent while also providing feedback and ideas to help meet company margin targets and quality standards. The Technical Designer will run fittings, make pattern/spec adjustments, and communicate directly with the sourcing hub/factories to ensure the best product is delivered. This role will partner with design, merchandising, and development teams. Excellent communication skills and experience working with a global team will be key to success. This position will report to the Director of Product Development. Applicants should have a background in golf and/or technical performance apparel.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with design and product development to translate designs into a spec sheet. Prepare, maintain, and update spec sheets and technical sketchesManage fit sessions, identify and make necessary adjustments to pattern and or measurement specs, record comments, communicate updates to all key partnersProvide callouts and critiques during fittings to verify that all fit issues are identified.Partner closely with design, PD and merch teams to engineer product to meet margin targetsResponsible for ensuring final fit and construction meet all quality and performance standards; assist in communicating these standards to vendors and key partners.Cross-check pattern, production specs, grade rules and BOMs before release to productionTrack and monitor brand go to market calendar; track sample shipments, track fit and top of production (TOP) samples.Maintain organized archive of samples and comments.Performs other related duties and assignments as required.Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Strong PC and Mac technical skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator PLM, Gerber and Lectra with ability to enhance and grow in all industry standard design software applications.Reliable communicator with peers and co-workers, and Design/Marketing management. Ability to present concepts and ideas to peers in a team setting.Extensive knowledge in product construction/fabric construction/wash and print techniquesMust have experience leading fittings and adjusting spec sheetsExcellent organizational skills, attention to detail and able to meet all deadlines without fail.Ability to learn and grow in a fast-paced, multi-tasking global working environment.Must be proactive with a solution/result-oriented attitudeExcellent English communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust work well in a team environmentMust possess a keen eye to identify fit issues and recommend solutionsStrong knowledge of garment construction and fabric types with deep understanding of material execution including fabrics, and textures.Collaborative designer, receptive to constructive feedback to hone skills and improve brand design.Passion and knowledge of the sport of golf preferred, but not required.Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design or similar field5+ years' experience in Technical DesignExperience in apparel brands across Men's lifestyle categories, Knits/Wovens/tops/bottoms/outerwear.Prior experience working with overseas suppliers in a wholesale business modelWork Environment / Physical Requirements:

Normal office conditions with extensive computer usageAbility to work extended hours/weekends as neededMedium physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of materials (up to 50 pounds)Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.

TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
