As the Manager, Marketing and PR you will be responsible for understanding the audience insights, crafting audience strategies and messages, and translating that into a flawless GTM. You will be the strategic marketing and PR architect for this segment. This role requires you to develop and execute comprehensive marketing and public relation strategies that engage the audience of current chief executive officers on the topic of inclusion and diversity. You will partner within a new team to craft and deliver compelling content, manage omnichannel campaigns, and drive engagement with senior executives and stakeholders. Your work will be essential in promoting the SHRM mission of advancing inclusion in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

Strategy Development:

Formulate and implement a robust marketing and audience engagement strategy that aligns with the business unit’s overarching objectives and targets specific audience segments, particularly senior executives.

Audience Engagement:

Identify and deeply understand key target audiences, tailoring marketing efforts to effectively reach and influence these groups.

Ensure marketing plans are closely aligned with the strategic goals of the business unit’s initiatives.

Content Creation and Management:

Messaging and Storytelling:

Create message maps for the personas of the core audience as well as related stakeholders associated with the workstreams. How and when will certain stories unfold to drive brand awareness and brand engagement.

Content Leadership:

Over the course of the year, map thehigh-impact content that emphasizes the importance and benefits of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Create the high-quality, compelling content including individual pieces of thought leadership, leveraging SHRM data and thought leadership channels.

Multimedia Production:

Oversee the development of various marketing materials, including executive summaries, newsletters, videos, webinars, and podcasts, ensuring they resonate with and engage the target audience.

Content Customization:

Utilize insights into audience behavior to craft personalized content that aligns with each stage of the customer journey.

Campaign Execution:

Omnichannel Campaigns:

Lead the planning and execution of comprehensive, multi-channel marketing campaigns to promote the initiatives, leveraging digital tools and platforms to maximize reach and engagement. Active monitoring and listening to adapt messaging and tactics in real-time for best results.

Performance Optimization:

Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven adjustments to ensure effectiveness and optimize ROI.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Senior Executive Interaction:

Work closely with internal senior executives to incorporate their insights into marketing strategies and activities.

Relationship Building:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry influencers, partners, and media outlets.

Primary Contact:

Serve as the main point of contact for all marketing-related inquiries and communications.

Event Management:

Event Strategy:

Scope, plan, and execute events, such as webinars and roundtables, that promote diversity and inclusion efforts.

Logistical Support:

Coordinate with internal and external speakers and manage event logistics, including marketing collateral, registrations, and follow-up activities, ensuring events are impactful and well-organized.

Analytics and Reporting:

Performance Tracking:

Continuously track, analyze, and report on the performance of marketing initiatives, using data to inform and drive continuous improvement.

Leadership Reporting:

Provide regular updates to senior leadership on marketing activities, outcomes, and insights, highlighting trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization.Use analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization.

Qualifications:

Education:

A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, PR, business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent relevant professional experience and training may be considered in lieu of degree.

Background in workforce initiatives and previous experience managing successful marketing and behavior change campaigns.

Experience:

Required:

Minimum of 10 years of progressively complex experience in marketing and/or public relations, with a focus on B2B marketing and executive-level engagement.

Desired:

Background in workforce initiatives and previous experience managing successful marketing campaigns.

Skills:

Marketing Expertise:

Strong understanding of marketing principles, digital marketing, and content marketing tailored for audience segments.

Communication:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a deep understanding of content marketing.

Tool Proficiency:

Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms such as CRM, email marketing, social media, and analytics (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce).

Project Management:

Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Work environment

This role is based in Alexandria, VA headquarters of SHRM and will require maintaining a home office.

Expected travel is moderate (20-30%).

The hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $135,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
