Position Announcement

The School of the Arts (SOA) Marketing team is looking for a creative graphic designer to assist in creating digital and printed materials for various uses throughout The SOA and The Noorda Center for the Performing Arts. This position assists in designing and producing various graphic assets for digital screens and social media channels. They will help maintain the university brands with a strong emphasis on graphics for event promotion, as the marketing team creates hundreds of assets for this purpose each year. The graphic designer will also assist in the maintenance of The SOA marketing archive by updating projects and content.Summary of Responsibilities

Motion/Digital Graphic Design: brainstorming, concepting, designing, seeking, and implementing feedback, and preparing visual brand materials for primarily social distributionPrint Material Design: concepting, designing, seeking, and implementing feedback, pre-press and pick-upAccount Management: direct client-facing interaction, including project meetings, design pitches, critiques, and deliveryBrand Identity Management: assist in establishing a consistent identity for SOA sub-brands and ensure all design team outputs meet brand standards and exceed minimum quality expectationsWebsite Updates: Update pages for The School of the Arts and The Noorda with new content and images as needed; creation of digital programs for eventsOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications

Must be a current UVU student.Knowledge of graphic design and the creative process.Skill in computers and computer applications, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.Skill in graphic design, page layout, and photo manipulation.Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with After Effects.Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Knowledge of graphic design and the creative processKnowledge of customer service standards and proceduresKnowledge of digital publishing applications such as After Effects, and/or editing programs including Premier or Final Cut ProKnowledge of web design applications, including UX/UISkills in the use of personal computers and related software applications, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator on a Mac platformSkills in interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and decision-makingAbility to prepare quality printed promotional/communication materialsAbility to produce professional illustrations using various mediums Ability to develop, maintain, and archive files and recordsAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Experience in cultures other than their ownDiscretion & independent judgment on matters of significance
