Utah Valley University's Math Lab is seeking a dynamic and creative marketing intern to join our team. As a marketing intern, you will be responsible for supporting various marketing initiatives, including concepting social media posts, copywriting for website updates, creating engaging content for Instagram, and assisting with marketing campaigns for multiple departments. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of marketing while contributing to the department's overall brand and online presence.

The Math Lab engages with students in the learning process to reinforce mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills as a way of cultivating an understanding of their academic coursework and the world around them. As a marketing intern, you will be responsible for various key tasks to support our marketing efforts. These include conceptualizing and designing captivating social media posts for our content calendar, with a specific emphasis on Instagram. You will also be tasked with crafting compelling and effective copy for website updates and social media posts. Engaging with our online community is crucial, so you will be expected to respond to social media inquiries and foster connections with our department's audience. Collaboration is essential in our dynamic marketing team, and you will work closely with our marketing team to shape marketing strategies for diverse campaigns. People skills are important for an effective marketing intern as you will be expected to attend events for our department and engage in hallway marketing and other avenues of connecting with students.Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current UVU student.Preferred QualificationsEnglish, Marketing, or Public Relations majorPrevious experience in copywriting or content writing for websites and social mediaKnowledge, Skill, and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of various social media platforms, especially Instagram and Instagram Reels.Familiarity with website content creation and best practices for online communication.Experience or familiarity with the Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator).Strong copywriting and content writing abilities to convey messages effectively.Understanding of marketing campaign development and execution.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse audiences.Effective communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to measure and analyze marketing effectiveness.Capability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.Openness to receiving and implementing constructive feedback.Comfortable and confident in front of the camera for video content creation.EEO Statement:
