This role reports into our Boston office Monday-Thursday (remote flexibility on Friday).

Wayfair is seeking a passionate storyteller to join its Corporate Communications team. This role is an exciting opportunity to tell the compelling, behind-the-scenes stories of this multi-billion dollar retail company. This person will develop and manage media relationships and create content for media, social media and owned channels, and will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders.

A successful candidate will be an energetic and highly-motivated communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance concurrent projects under tight deadlines. Candidates should be inherently curious and self-driven with a passion for corporate storytelling and an ability to bring the people, teams and initiatives that make a company tick to life. The role will report into the Head of External Communications and is based at the company’s headquarters in Boston.

What You’ll Do:

Overall support of media relations strategy for proactive storytelling

Create press briefing materials and staff media interviews with Wayfair spokespeople

Manage media inbounds and monitor coverage

Build and maintain relationships with business and trade press to support Wayfair media campaigns

Own and maintain key corporate channels, including corporate social media and company website

Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content across various channels - including press releases, bylines, social media content and corporate blogs

Translate multifaceted business initiatives into simple, polished, and engaging content

Support awards and speaking opportunities to drive thought leadership and increase awareness of Wayfair

Participate in strategic campaign planning and contribute to developing story ideas that support corporate communications priorities

Develop and maintain editorial calendar to ensure consistent media coverage

What You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5-7 years of

experience in corporate communications or public relations, either in-house or with an agency.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Strong attention to detail; carefully and consistently proofs own work

Superior organizational skills and proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics

Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization

Strong quantitative skills, comfortable navigating a data-driven business environment

Critical thinker who is flexible and open to change and new information

Interest and experience in developing content and managing social media and corporate channels

The confidence and maturity to interact with senior leaders

Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude
