Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for directing marketing, media relations, public relations, community relations, market research, and advertising for Opening Nights consistent with policies and procedures operationally within Florida State University Marketing and University Communications.

Create and execute annual season marketing plans as well as those plans for each event while enhancing the Opening Nights brand. Monitor progress of marketing efforts and provide analysis of effectiveness of implemented plans and adjusting as needed to maximize earned revenue goals through event ticket sales while implementing audience diversification strategies to maximize marketing exposure. Leverages a deep understanding of digital advertising to develop robust digital strategies for marketing and advertising Opening Nights performances.

Supervise the department and provide guidance and feedback to marketing staff. Work with show press representatives, artist marketing personnel, and co-promoters to develop and implement advertising budgets for events.

Produce, schedule, and supervise all promotional activities for events. Compile and release press materials and coordinate all press functions.

Maintain a program of market research and disseminate this information to internal and external user groups.

Work with external parties to develop third-party promotional partnerships and sponsorships along with the Opening Nights Director of Development. Cultivating new and sustaining current audience relationships through print, electronic, and other innovative communication, and retentional marketing vehicles.

Review and authorize all payment of event-related advertising and marketing bills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Master's Degree
