Purpose

To lead design projects and manage the design process; i.e. estimate resources and hours necessary to ensure timely delivery for interior projects. Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service; generate 2D & 3D models and drawings; creating graphical layouts and fabricating books for marketing. Provide quality documentations and the highest quality presentation which reflects our VVIP/VIP level experience.

Essential FunctionsEstablish artistic strategy, budgets and schedules for key project design.Estimate resources and hours necessary for all Interior projects.Develop current & new innovative strategies and design ideas to execute artistic material as needed.Generate 2D Floor Plans using our Design Connect System.Generate & Manage our 2D Library of Floor Plans, Components, and Assemblies using Dynamic Blocks.Generate 3D Models that can be converted to ‘Design Elevations’ with Material Callouts and Detail Views.Create Models that can be utilized to generate photorealistic images.Prepare and organize Design Packages that are easy to explain and understand by our Client(s).Manage work load and design process to ensure department objectives are met and projects are delivered timely.Interface with Suppliers to obtain technical data to create accurate models and details.Develop current & establish new accounts.Initiate & present design ideas to internal and external audiences; verbally, in writing & in sketch form.Generate layouts using Adobe InDesign, print and fabricate books for our Marketing team.Collaborate with Marketing to organize and maintain inventory of books.Keep Design Studio neat, organized, stocked with current industry samples.Flexible hours based around the specific client needs and to support design schedule.Acute attention to details.Customer Service / Humble Servant mindset.Non-Essential Functions

Travel to Suppliers, Tradeshows, or Client locations (on rare occasion) if/when needed.Supervisory Responsibilities

Reports to VP of Operations.Qualifications

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or in related fields.Minimum 3 years’ Interior Industrial Design Experience.SolidWorks with surfacing, assembly and drafting experience.Adobe Creative Suites graphic design and layoutsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.DESIRED

Experience with AutoCAD 2D layouts and block creation.Experience generating 2D floor plans.3D modeling experience.Knowledge and understanding of materials used for VVIP/VIP aircraft interiors.Familiar with aircraft terminology.Creating and fostering client relationships.Effectively communicating ideas to internal and external audiences in verbal, written and/or sketch form.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Understands drawing and design processes, preferably specific to VVIP/VIP aircraft.Familiar with FARs and their requirements as it pertains to interiors, burn certs, etc.Comprehends Statement of Work (SOW) and other internal documents.Ensures key information is shared with stakeholders; upper management and all others that have a need to know.Communicates regularly and consistently with everyone involved in the project or with efforts toward the project regarding development; plans etc.Creative ability to develop unique design solutions.Ability to organize and manage competing priorities in order to meet overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced working environment in a precise manner while maintaining exceptional quality.Effectively communicates and establishes collaborative partnerships with colleagues to develop strategic plans & with resource personnel to collectively & efficiently meet client and agency objectives.Working Conditions
