EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN - REMOTE

The Executive Director, Human-Centered Design will help build a high functioning, high impact innovation practice in close partnership with key functional partners who will aid in the development of the practice. The ideal candidate will have substantial design expertise and the ability to both strategize and execute service design, end-user research, insight synthesis, prototype development/iteration, product/service blueprinting and the application of human-centered design methodologies.

Executes design strategies in support of clinical innovation

Collaborates with the Vice President, Clinical Innovations, and other senior-level leaders to define and execute innovation strategy to deliver high value and quality clinical outcomes for patients

Partners in the development of end-user research strategy using human-centered design methodology, assists in overseeing and managing end-to-end design projects

Develops and applies end-user research approaches appropriate for specific innovation initiatives, including choice of research typology, approach to end-user recruitment and end-user research guide creation

Coordinates and/or assists in the production of supporting visual design concepts.

Surfaces and synthesizes insights which serve as inputs into service and clinical product design

Leads prototyping and concept evolution, translating insights into design principles supporting the maturation and delivery of effective solutions

Applies service blueprinting and co-creates product and innovation roadmaps

In partnership with Rogers Operating System (ROS) Deployment Leads, design and executes iterative prototype testing and pilots

Assists in quantifying and articulating the value of prototypes, pilots, clinical products, and innovations

Demonstrates design leadership and effective co-management of cross-functional teams

Cultivates and develops effective partnerships internally and externally across the organization, including partnership with Executive, Operations, Clinical Technology Services (CTS), Research, Data Analytics, ROS and other leadership

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field required

Master’s degree or higher in related field preferred

8+ years of experience with working in innovation, human-centered design, product/ program development, experience/service design, or customer experience design

3+ years of leadership experience, preferably within healthcare or related industries

Excellent communication skills, customer focus, proficiency, leadership ability, and professional integrity

Self-starter attitude; comfortable with working independently

Electronic medical record software experience, with Cerner

Strong proficiency in Adobe, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Products and Miro.

Ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment while adhering to deadlines
